First pic: Bull calf (Creole) from our previous years calving at 7 months old just before weaning. Second pic: this years 7month old bull calf (Roux)! Size difference is astonishing. We prefer to wean much earlier, but pasture expansions delays had to be completed.

Our first cut of Bahia has been ready, but this Louisiana weather has us way behind schedule by several weeks! We are blessed for the rain and nourishing crops, but we need a break!

Ran both calves through the chute. Only the bull calf needed his booster vaccinations. Got both weights and turned them back out! Was a good time, but a hot time!

We use the tape weight method for now so measurements are close.

F1 Braford female pushed into the weaning pen today with the Beefmaster bull calf. They are loving the grass and whole corn in the afternoons. There mommas aren't quite having it so disregard all the background non sense lol. We chose to do fence line weaning.
