The Pontifical Mission Societies USA is inviting Catholics across the United States to unite in prayer this October by joining the daily recitation of the World Mission Rosary at 3 PM Eastern via Zoom, beginning October 1, the feast of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, patroness of the missions.

The initiative coincides with World Mission Month and leads up to World Mission Sunday on October 19, when every parish in the world prays for the missions and contributes to a universal collection supporting the 1,124 mission dioceses and territories where the Church is young, growing, and often facing poverty and persecution.

The World Mission Rosary was designed and promoted by Venerable Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen when he served as National Director of The Pontifical Mission Societies. Each decade of the rosary is dedicated to a different continent, fostering solidarity with the universal Church.

More than 100 parishioners made the diocesan pilgrimage on Saturday (Sept. 27) to the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Mass. The day began bright and early, as you can see in the first picture β€” the sun gently rising and resting on the crucifix outside Holy Cross Church.

Two buses transported the group who spent the afternoon touring the beautiful campus, attending Mass, and reciting the Divine Mercy Chaplet before heading back home.

Grateful for a safe and blessed journey!

This Sunday, September 28th, we celebrate Priesthood Sunday, a special day to honor the dedicated priests who serve our diocese with faith and generosity. We are grateful for their witness, their commitment to the Gospel, and the many ways they guide us closer to Christ.

Take a moment this weekend to thank a priest who has made an impact in your life and to pray for an increase in priestly vocations in our Church. πŸ™
