🚨 Scam alert! Someone is contacting past clients I’ve worked with and soliciting website audits. File this under things I didn’t think I’d be dealing with this week… yikes.

Super thankful one of my clients reached out to let me know, so I wanted to share since I don’t know how many people they’ve contacted.

Here’s what I know: the scammer created a fake Gmail account that, at first glance, looks like it’s coming from my business. Their display name is “Going Bold Studio,” and the actual email is [email protected]. For reference, my only legitimate emails are [email protected] and [email protected].

From the emails I’ve seen, they’re reaching out to past website clients offering “audits to keep things up-to-date with Squarespace,” and if you say you’re interested, they send a proposal through Upwork. The Upwork profile name being used is Timileyin Babarinde, which is obviously not me and NOT affiliated with my business. When pushed on why the name is different, they’ve claimed my team recently expanded.

What’s extra frustrating is that I do offer website audits — just not the ones they’re pitching. I was even planning on running a Black Friday/Cyber Monday promo, but given the situation, I’m skipping it. Clearly the scammer is playing off that timing and has actually done some research into my business 😔. If you do need a real audit, I can help with those, and info is on my website — but I am absolutely not connected to this scammer.

To wrap things up, I’ve reported the email to Gmail, reported the scam to the FTC, and reported the Upwork profile. But honestly, I’m not confident any of those will move quickly. So if you’re contacted by this fake account, please know it is NOT me or anyone at Going Bold Studio. Don’t reply, and per Gmail’s guidance, click the three dots and report it as phishing.

Hopefully this gets resolved soon, and I hope sharing this prevents any issues for my amazing clients. As always, thanks for your support 💗

10 YEARS. 🥹✨

I’m deep in my feels this week — because it’s officially been 10 years since I became an entrepreneur. TEN. FREAKING. YEARS. 🤯

From leaving my agency job and starting my first business out of my studio apartment in NYC, to the long days (and even longer nights) — it’s been a journey.

From signing our first clients to dreaming big. To draining my savings account that first year and wondering if I was really going to be able to make it work.

To moving back to the PNW, booking out our business, launching new offerings and pivoting. To later navigating buyouts, building something new from scratch, and putting myself out there again and again.

There’s been a global pandemic, economic downturns, busy seasons, slow seasons and a thousand plot twists I never saw coming. But somehow, through it all, I made it here

Over the years, I’ve been featured in publications, spoken on stages, and taught classes. I’ve grown, evolved, and bet on myself more times than I can count.

It’s one thing to do work you love. It’s another to be trusted with people’s visions — year after year, business after business, phase after phase.

This journey has never been lost on me, even a decade in. I’m forever grateful to every client I’ve worked with over the last 10 years. Thanks for being part of the ride and cheers to the next chapter!🩷🎉

You could say a lot has happened since the last time I posted on my little corner of this app! 👀

Since then, we bought a new house, sold our townhouse, moved closer to family and I’m also a year older 🥳🎉 I also launched my biggest website design project to-date, hit a big milestone in my business, and launched a new social media training/consulting package.

It’s been a an exciting, unexpected and , really stressful season! 🙃 I think today may be the first day I’ve truly exhaled in months and I’m not going to lie… it feels good!

I’ll definitely be popping up in your grid more soon and I can’t wait! 🩷 2025 is going to be a good one for Going Bold! ✨

I had the honor of speaking at ’s September membership meeting to chat all things marketing! 🎉

Something I do every year in my business (and that I recommend other small business owners do too) is do an annual audit of your marketing. I know hearing the word “audit” may make it sound like this big scary thing... but really, it’s just taking some dedicated time to review all your efforts. Reflect on what you’ve been doing, see where you could make improvements, and make plans for the year ahead!

With things like this, one of the biggest obstacles for many is not knowing where to start. Alas, I’m officially back in the office after 10 days abroad in London, Canterbury and Paris! Which fellow biz owners, you know what a feat taking 10 days off can be 😅

It was such an amazing time exploring new places, learning about the culture and trying lots of new food though! It was our first trip abroad so we definitely did as much as we could too! If you know how I plan itineraries… then you know 😂!

As fun as it was though, I’m not going to lie, it felt so good to get back into that morning routine today. I’m a routine girly through and through. Anyone else feel that way about vacays? 🙋🏼‍♀️

So excited to get back to work with my trusty doggo sidekick by my side! 🐶
