One week left to go before my September deadline and I have a bit of an offer I would like to throw out there.

It is simple, run any ad in 3 areas in my Wise Shopper wraps and get a free book ad in any area of your choosing. So you can use this to target 4 areas (reach around 200,000 homes) or target 3 areas and double up in 1.

This would also be a 2-3 mailing agreement, as well as after the 2nd or 3rd mailing (whichever we agree on) we would drop the free book ad.

Pricing would start at $1,400 for 1/8th inside page ad of wrap (a little smaller than the books)

Offers need to be simple to understand for the consumer.

It needs to be something that even at a glance they know what it is and how to act on it.

The consumer must view your offer as instantly valuable to them.

The more complicated the offer on your ad, the less likely anyone is going to act on it.

No, we aren't the only company offering direct mail advertising, but we are the only company in the pacific northwest, that offers direct mail advertising for less than 1 penny per home.

Treat the ad like you would a salesman. Hold it to the same standards. However unlike a single salesman only able to speak with 1 person at a time, the ads you send out are able to speak to many multiples of people in 1 shot. This is what Claude Hopkins write down in the book "Scientific Advertising".

Think about that the next time you send out an ad of any kind. Ask yourself does this ad represent my company, yes or no? Based on demographic data, is the ad speaking to any relevant pain points?

I have worked as a full time marketer for nearly 5 years now. Crazy as it sounds, it is within the last year or so that I started to understand how important demographics are. A friend of mine gifted me a book called the pumpkin plan. One of the steps of the plan involves defining your ideal customer, who is your best customer, then targeting only that customer. As a salesman, you are basically the micro version of a business, so very much so understanding your “demographic” is kind of important.

If you’re starting out, or even if you’re in the thick of it, a few questions worth asking as you look at your marketing plans. What product or service do you offer? Demographically who typically purchases that product or service most? How much of that demographic is represented in your area? Figure that out then figure out what platforms that demographic typically responds best to in an advertising sense.

I spoke with my friend Carter, who owns a local flooring company. We talked for several hours about marketing ideas, not only for his business but also for other businesses. We agreed that marketing is like playing Chess because it can be tricky.

In Chess, you need to know how each piece moves. Just one piece can't win the game. You have to use many pieces together to win.

In marketing, it's similar. You need to understand different ways to tell people about your business. Even though the queen is strong in Chess, it can't win alone.

In both Chess and marketing, you need to plan your moves. You can't just do one thing and expect to win. Other businesses are also trying to get people's attention. It's something to think about! 😊

Hey everyone this is Raphael Botsyo. He is a paralympic athlete from Ghana who has made 4 appearances at the 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2020 Summer Paralympics.

His story is amazing and he uses the platform God has given him to share his story with other individuals in the same situation, encouraging others to not let their disability discourage them, and to turn it into a super power. I truly couldn't put it into words better what he represents that he does for himself in the video.

Word on the street is there will be a meet up planned for the near future, centered around promoting Raphael's trip to Spokane to compete at Bloomsday, and scheduling places where he can share his story so that it can encourage others who may be up against the same things he was.
