Hello friends,
I want to take a moment to say thank you.
After sharing my solo moto-camping journey through Alaska and the Yukon, this community has grown in ways I didn’t expect—and I’m truly grateful for every comment, message, and quiet moment you’ve spent along the way.
Slow Down for Adventure is about more than motorcycles. It’s about living in the moment, noticing the small things, and finding joy—especially as we get older. It’s about getting back on a bike after 20 years away, starting again after 50, and discovering that two wheels can be a kind of therapy.
I’m a 54-year-old German-American living in Alaska since 2001, riding my DR650 through wild places when I can—and dreaming about new journeys when winter keeps the bike parked. In the colder months, I’ll be sharing more Alaska life, winter reflections, and eventually my art and graphic design work too.
My hope is to build a quiet, supportive space here—for riders, adventurers, creatives, and anyone who feels called to slow down and reconnect with life and all the little moments.
Time is the real currency—best spent awake and present.
Thank you for being here.
Where are you watching from, and what does slowing down for adventure mean to you?
