The news from along the Lakes sounds pretty bad. We hope our friends and vineyards didn't lose anywhere near as many vines as is being reported in the general media. As noted a few days ago, the ice wine harvest was going great, but I really don't know about the comparative profit margins of ice wines vs vinifera wines vs labrusca sweet wines. I'm told any vineyard that loses a lot of plants is likely to face at least three more years before new planting produce any usable fruit.
