We had a wonderful Saturday morning for storytime at Story Garden Bookstore in St. Petersburg. Visitors enjoyed exploring the selection of books, including many BeaLu Book titles.

During the session, Mrs. Q read Snakes in My Garden. As the weather warms up and snakes become more active, this book serves as a great introduction to common species and provides interesting facts about each one. For our craft, everyone had a great time creating squiggly snakes using egg cartons and string.

We had another wonderful group of children, parents, and grandparents join Mrs. Q for storytime at the fabulous Book Shack in historic Dade City.

Our featured book was a new BeaLu Books release, Ask the Dog, by dog expert Steve Dale. This fun and informative story helps children and parents understand how dogs communicate. By learning specific cues, children can identify when a dog wants to be approached or when it needs space. These important safety lessons help keep both children and pets safe.

BeaLu Books is also excited to announce our collaboration with the Book Shack. We now offer several beautifully written, magical stories by our talented authors and illustrators at this location. Please be sure to stop by the Book Shack to browse our BeaLu Books selection.

We had a wonderful group of children, parents, and grandparents join BeaLu Books authors and Mrs. Q for our “Good Morning Kindness” storytime at the Story Garden Bookstore.

To celebrate our theme, two BeaLu Books authors joined us from across the country. Precious McKenzie shared her book Cinder Yeti—a fantastical story about friendship and kindness loosely based on the classic Cinderella—all the way from Montana. Dylan Snowden also traveled from Tallahassee to read her delightful book of affirmations, I Am Inspired. Together, we practiced affirmations focused on being kind to ourselves and others.

Following the readings, everyone enjoyed creating Cinder Yeti puppets and bedazzled mirrors to use while reciting their affirmations at home.

We are thrilled to continue BeaLu Books Storytime on the first Saturday of every month at The Story Garden Bookstore. Please check our events calendar, as well as the bookstore’s calendar, for more upcoming activities!

Spend your morning at The Story Garden for a sweet celebration of kindness, stories, and creativity. Families are welcome to stay for the whole morning or stop in for one of the activities — whatever works best for your family!

• 10:15AM - Storytime
With Mrs. Q and guest author featuring Cinder-Yeti and Bright & Beautiful

• 10:45AM - Kindness Craft Time
Create two take-home crafts: a Cinder-Yeti doll for yourself and a painted kindness rock to share with others.

•11:30AM - Storytime with guest author reading “I Am Inspired”

• Book signings will be available throughout the morning!

After being an educator and working in children’s publishing for many years, I started BeaLu Books to create books that kids want to read and coach writers on their publishing journey.
