Florida has won its first national championship since 2007 and its third overall after beating Houston 65-63 in the 2025 men’s NCAA title game.

Houston had a chance to tie or take the lead in the final seconds but failed to get a shot off with its final possession. The Cougars have now appeared in three national championship games and seven Final Fours without ever winning one.

Houston's final possession: A jump-pump fake, drops the ball, can't touch the ball for a double-dribble, the clock runs out. Brutal.

That was the worst college basketball ending possible for Houston.
