According to reports, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reportedly pushing for massive upgrades to Raymond James Stadium ahead of a major 2027 lease decision. Proposed renovations could reportedly cost up to $1 billion and include a large shaded structure for fans, upgraded premium seating, and even a new entertainment district around the stadium.

The Bucs must decide by January 2027 whether they’ll extend their lease at Ray Jay for another five years, while local leaders say any final plan will depend on what the city and county can realistically afford. Raymond James Stadium first opened in 1998 and has already undergone major renovations over the years, but the franchise now says more modernization is needed to keep up with today’s NFL experience. 🏈🏟️🏴‍☠️

Family, friends, and the Tampa Bay community are mourning the loss of 21-year-old USF student Lauryn Akey after investigators say a drunk driver traveling the wrong way on I-75 caused a deadly crash in Charlotte County. Loved ones say Lauryn had just left a wedding and texted her family minutes before the crash telling them she loved them. Now, those closest to her are honoring her memory online with the hashtag , sharing stories about her kindness, positive spirit, and dream of becoming a nurse after graduating from USF next year. A third grader from Apollo Beach is officially reaching for the stars. 🌎✨ Eeshan Kallu, a student at Dorothy C. York Innovation Academy, won a district-wide competition after designing a mission patch that’s now set to travel to the International Space Station aboard an upcoming SpaceX mission this August.

His artwork, featuring an astronaut and rocket floating through space, was selected as part of the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program and will spend several weeks orbiting Earth before returning home with an official certificate proving it traveled through space.

The young student says both science and art are his favorite subjects, and now his creativity is about to become part of space history right here from the 813. 🚀🌕

A Tampa man is facing serious charges after police say he fatally harmed his family’s 4-pound Chihuahua during an alleged intoxicated outburst earlier this month.

Investigators say officers responded to a home on West Cordelia Street on May 4 after reports that a 6-year-old Chihuahua had suffered severe injuries inside the residence.
Police say 37-year-old Christopher Malone intentionally caused blunt force injuries to the small dog after it walked past him while he was allegedly under the influence.

The Chihuahua later passed away from its injuries, and Malone has since been charged with aggravated animal cruelty. Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw described the incident as a senseless act of violence against a defenseless animal.

The case has already sparked outrage online, with many people calling for stricter consequences in animal abuse cases. Malone was reportedly booked into Orient Road Jail as the investigation remains ongoing.

Tampa police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect accused of violently assaulting and robbing an 82-year-old woman near a bus stop. Investigators say the man grabbed her by the hair, slammed her to the ground, causing her to lose consciousness, before stealing her bag and fleeing on a bicycle. He was last seen wearing a blue hat and a white “No Christ No Life” shirt. The victim has since been released from the hospital and is recovering as detectives work to track down the suspect.
