Honoring the Legacy of Hazel Dukes

A true giant has left us. Hazel Dukes dedicated her life to civil rights, justice, and community empowerment. Her leadership within the NAACP and beyond paved the way for so many, and her unwavering commitment to progress remains an inspiration.

I had the honor of capturing her at the Café Mocha event last year, a moment I will always cherish. Her presence was powerful, her wisdom unmatched, and her fight for equality as urgent as ever—especially in today’s climate.

Her legacy lives on in the work of incredible leaders like Jotaka Eaddy, who continues the mission by tirelessly working to protect our democracy. Seeing her in action, pushing for change, and uplifting voices gives me hope for the future. has been our lifeline!

I am beyond proud to have shared space with these phenomenal women. Their impact is immeasurable, their fight is ongoing, and their influence is everlasting.

A huge thank you to Tevra Francis and for allowing me the opportunity to capture such an unforgettable event.

I’m sharing images of these trailblazers—may their work inspire us to keep pushing forward.
