Stoopwalker You'll find me exploring somewhere off the beaten path. Just kidding, you won't find me. My book is Hoosier's Hidden Hikes, available on Amazon. stoopwalker.com

An Explorer’s Guide to the Hoosier National Forest. Available now on Amazon. Somewhere inside of me there is a deep-rooted infatuation with exploring the unknown. I'm usually the first one to vacate a perfectly good trail to investigate a stream, a cliff, or a hole in the ground. I spend much of my time exploring the backwoods of Hoosier National Forest, Daniel Boone National Fore

st, Mammoth Cave National Park, and many other public lands in between. I like to share my adventures and sometimes I share the locations as well. I wrote a guidebook for the Hoosier National Forest titled Hoosier's Hidden Hikes, which features many of the hidden waterfalls and geologic features that I have documented in the area.

Here we go again; the bane of my existence is naming things. Apparently there is already a Clifty Cove Falls in Kentucky. Here's a better name for this beauty: Clifty Creek Kettle.

The height on this waterfall is about 8 feet tall with a plunge pool of the same depth. However, there are boulders directly under the falls that prevent a safe jump into the pool. Don't be an idiot and break your leg there; the name Broke Leg Falls is already taken.

I just want to remind folks that alcohol is banned at Rainbow Lake in Perry County. The police are actively doing checks and busting people; I witnessed it myself last weekend. I would also ask that you please bring a trash bag and do your part to keep the area clean.

I’m not usually the type to post about touristy stuff, but this place earned it. If you love plants and nature, the Missouri Botanical Garden is basically like Disney World. The old‑growth trees and the themed greenhouses were awesome, and there’s so much more to see. Highly recommend checking it out — maybe this summer when the woods are too hot and buggy to deal with.

I just watched a video from Rockin Randy that made my day. He captivates the exact reasons why I wrote Hoosiers Hidden Hikes. The book is more than sharing locations; it's about inspiring a new approach to the outdoor experience. I also like making maps, so I appreciate the compliments in that regard :)

Thanks a bunch, Rockin Randy, for the shout-out.

Every afternoon, a shadow emerges from the depths of this rockshelter. It creeps its way across the valley floor until the forest is enveloped in total darkness.
