Apparently someone was a little jealous of the new baby in the car. 😂🐷🐶 It was like watching two toddlers fight over my lap!

Safe to say our newest little farm baby has already become part of the family. ❤️ Sometimes you just can’t leave the farm without bringing a little piece of it with you.

Farm life is never boring… and I wouldn’t have it any other way! 🩷 😂

She’s HOME! ❤️🐷

After a long trip, our sweet girl Ember is finally settling in here at Sinnett Acres Farm, and we couldn’t be happier! She’s enjoying lots of shade, fresh grass, plenty of love… and of course, popsicles (her absolute favorite treat!) 🍓🍉🍦

Now comes the exciting part… we’re officially counting down until piglets! 🐖

Ember is expecting a beautiful litter that will be:

Tomorrow is a BIG day here at Sinnett Acres Farm! ✨🐖

Tomorrow we welcome Ember home!

If all goes as planned, Ember is due to farrow this September, and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce the foundation of our herd.

Our piglets will be:
🖤75% Berkshire
❤️ 25% Red Wattle

After a lot of research and planning, we chose this cross very intentionally.

The Berkshire is known around the world for producing exceptional pork with beautiful marbling, tenderness, and rich flavor. The Red Wattle brings hardiness, excellent mothering ability, efficient foraging, and strong growth times while still producing outstanding meat. 🥓

If everything goes according to plan, we’ll have September piglets available, and we can’t wait to share this journey with all of you.

Baby Freckles and Wattles are enjoying their morning snacks and mud hole! Wattles likes to eat from my hand and get rubbed down but Freckles isn’t so sure about that yet. She just likes to come for the food! Lol We sure love our girls and will be adding our new addition this weekend! 🥰🐖

Elly May is enjoying her new boyfriend! We were going to AI her to a nice bull then i decided with her being a first time heifer i don’t want to waste the straw and it not take. I want to see how she calves and mother’s first. So we are hoping to see some action soon! She should be coming in heat here in a few days. We have a young Maine Angus bull for a beef dairy cross calf. She is a blind rescue we took in from a local dairy and she is a sweet gentle girl. Wish us luck with a pregnancy soon for a Spring calf! 🤞🙏🩷🐄

🥚 Egg of the Day! 🥚

Just look at the beautiful ombre speckling on this one! 🤎✨ Loving the solid bloom to the Dino spots and the tiny speckling at the bottom. It’s a beautiful work of art from a happy hen!

From the moment the sun comes up, our girls are out scratching, exploring, and enjoying life the way chickens were meant to. That care and freedom show up in every basket we collect.

It’s little moments like finding a gorgeous egg tucked away in the flower pot that remind us why we love this life so much. ❤️

⭐️ We will be putting our fresh dozens that we collected this evening together, and they will be available for pick up tomorrow! 🙂

Good morning from Sinnett Acres Farm! ☀️🤍

Recovery has definitely changed how chores look around here this week! Since I’m under strict orders of no bending and no lifting over 10 pounds, I’ve been promoted to Farm Supervisor while my two little farm hands have taken over the important jobs. 😂

We’re about to head outside with our tiny feed buckets because that’s all Mom is allowed to carry right now. It might take us ten trips instead of two, but we’ll get everyone fed! 🐓🐐🐷

Rowan and his sister have also proudly accepted the role of Official Egg Collectors. They’re checking the nesting boxes all day long so Mommy doesn’t have to bend over. I think they’re enjoying the promotion a little too much! 🥚😉

Healing isn’t easy when you’re used to being busy most of the day, but these sweet moments remind me that sometimes slowing down is a blessing. I’m so thankful for my little helpers, and a farm that’s teaching us patience one tiny bucket at a time.

We head back to the doctor on Wednesday, then two more weeks of taking lots of little trips, and letting these two run the farm. 😅
