Honoring Jeff Healey on His Birthday! đź’™
Jeffrey Leon Healey was a Canadian blues-rock guitarist and singer, born on March 25, 1966, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
He began playing guitar at a very young age despite being legally blind and developed a unique technique by laying the guitar flat on his lap. Healey recorded extensively with The Jeff Healey Band under Arista Records, achieving hits like "Angel Eyes" and "See the Light." His music combined blues, rock, and jazz elements, and he toured widely across North America and Europe.
Healey contributed to blues-rock by demonstrating inventive guitar methods and bringing his performances to large audiences despite his visual impairment. He also supported young musicians and promoted music education throughout his career.
Jeff Healey died on March 2, 2008, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We honor Jeff Healey and enjoy his music forever.
