Learning Curves absolutely knew what it was doing and said, “trust me, you're going to enjoy Audrey and Michelle's story.” This is a former student/professor, sapphic, age-gap romance, and yes—it’s a little messy, but it also managed to be unexpectedly sweet.

The tension was doing the most. The awkward moments, longing looks, internal panic spirals was great. I ate it up. The characters felt human and flawed, and I liked watching them navigate their feelings instead of pretending everything was simple or neat. Did it make me pause and stare at the page a few times like, “okay… we’re going there”? Yes. Did I still enjoy myself? Also yes. That’s the vibe.

It’s not perfect, but it’s cute, emotionally engaging, and very easy to get invested in. Four stars for sapphic chaos, complicated feelings, and a romance that somehow made me smile through the mess.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Vol. 11 of Sweat and Soap destroyed me in the gentlest, softest, most intoxicating way possible. As the last book in the series, it wrapped me up like a warm scented hug and then punched me in the feelings with pure romance. I was giggling. I was kicking my feet. I was sniffing the air like Natori himself had blessed the atmosphere.

NATORI AND ASAKO???
THIS. COUPLE. OWNS. ME.
I love them so much it’s borderline concerning. Watching them grow, love, panic, and support each other had me smiling like an feral raccoon who just discovered affection for the first time. They’re soft. They’re wholesome. They’re spicy. They’re EVERYTHING.

The finale gave me everything I wanted. It gave me closure, romance, wholesome chaos, and left me emotionally moisturized. I swear half this book had me whispering, “I just love them, okay?!” while wiping away tears like I was in a drama. I'm going to miss them SO MUCH!!!

If you want a finale that feels like being wrapped in a warm sweater, spritzed with the perfect fragrance, and handed emotional closure. This is the 5-star ending we deserved. I will be grieving and celebrating their love forever.

Actual rating: 4.5 ⭐

Paint It All Red had me unhinged from the first sentence. As the finale of the Mindf*ck series, it absolutely delivered the chaos, the heartbreak, the vengeance, and the “I am not well” energy I signed up for. I swear I was reading like someone who hadn’t slept in 48 hours and didn’t plan to until I knew everyone’s fate. My heart? Gone. My sanity? Missing. My stress levels? Astronomical. I definitely knew s**t was about to hit the fan. It was INTENSE!

BUT LISTEN.
I’m just going to say it: I needed the bad guys to be tortured a little more. Just a little extra suffering for seasoning. A sprinkle of pain. A dash of “this is what you get.” They deserved it and you will not change my mind. I said what I said. That's the only reason it’s not a full 5 stars. I felt it was a little rushed. Even so, I felt like I needed 0.2 seconds to breathe and this book said “absolutely not.” The emotional whiplash had me pacing like a villain trying to process character development. Still, the finale wrapped everything up in a way that healed me, broke me, revived me, and then slapped me again for good measure.

If you made it through the first four books, this one will finish you off in the most chaotic, satisfying way possible. Highly recommend this series. Lana Myers is my new favorite FMC!

Love You, Mean It was my first time reading a book by Laura Pavlov, and while I can definitely see why readers love her small-town romances, this one didn’t completely capture me. The writing is smooth and easy to fall into, and the banter between the characters made me smile more than once. I really enjoyed the cozy setting and the friend group dynamic. It gave the story a fun, familiar energy that made it perfect for a weekend read.

That said, I wanted just a bit more emotional depth and chemistry between the main couple. Some moments felt rushed or a little predictable, and I found myself wanting to connect to their relationship on a deeper level. Still, there’s a sweetness to Pavlov’s storytelling that’s hard not to appreciate, and her dialogue feels natural and engaging.

Overall, it was a cute, quick romance that made me curious to explore more of her work. Even though this one wasn’t a total hit for me, I can tell Laura Pavlov has a lot of charm in her writing. I’m definitely open to giving her other books a try.

Actual rating: 4.5 ⭐

Too Old For This was such a wild and refreshing read! I absolutely loved the idea of an older woman as a serial killer. It’s such a fun twist on the genre, and it gave the story this perfect mix of humor, chaos, and heart. The main character’s voice was sharp, witty, and full of personality, making her impossible not to root for, even when she’s doing the most questionable things. The dark comedy hit just right, and I found myself laughing at moments I definitely shouldn’t have. A little repetitive here and there, but overall, it was a clever and entertaining read that totally lived up to the title. It’s rare to find something this unique and unapologetically bold. Definitely worth the read!

Take This Heart by Willow Aster completely stole mine. From the very first chapter, I was drawn into the raw emotion and heartbreak woven throughout the story. Aster’s writing is beautifully lyrical and deeply human—she captures the kind of love and loss that feels both painful and healing at the same time. The characters were complex and flawed in the best way, and their growth felt so authentic that I couldn’t stop reading. Every moment between them carried weight and tenderness, and by the end, I was completely invested in their journey. This book made me tear up, smile, and think about it long after I finished. It’s one of those rare stories that truly touches your heart—an easy 5 stars and a new favorite from Willow Aster.

Overall this was a good start to a series. I liked the unique take on the Roman Empire and Julius Caesar. I also enjoyed the fact that there was dragon shifters. I don't think I ever read that in a fantasy. I know for some people the misogynistic world and the slave x master trope isn't for them, but I didn't mind it at all. I felt it was appropriate for the setting of the story. Although there were aspects to the story I enjoyed, I felt there was a lack of depth in many areas. However, it did keep me interested enough to continue on with the series. I would recommend this to my viewers, but I'd definitely make them aware of the setting of this world.

P.S. I wanted to mention that both narrators did an amazing job with this.

I'll share more of my thoughts in my monthly wrap up video on my YouTube channel, Ginnie Reads.

This was a fun quick read. I went into this book blindly. The only things I knew was that it was a dark romance, taboo, and has a age gap romance. This was my first book by this author and it won't be my last.

I liked the flow of everything. Some things happened that were unexpected and totally left me wondering if I missed something. I guess that was the author's way of throwing a curveball to wrap everything thing up.

I liked the chemistry between Dove and Reid, but I also felt it was lacking a bit. I wanted to have swoony moments, but really didn't. I also felt that the tension between them wasn't really there. I wanted more, especially because of the circumstances.

Overall, I still found this entertaining and quick. I would definitely recommend this book to my besties. Also I would love to get a book on Jonas! *hint, hint*

I'll share my official rating and thoughts in my March Wrap Up video. In the meantime, subscribe to my channel and check out more videos here: Ginnie Reads
