They say… Don’t let the old man in.
Stay young.
Keep it light.
Float a little.
Try not to explode, every time somebody gets close to your fuse with a… blow torch.
Or a… bad day
Or… the wrong words
Or a pain that slips out when they get close to others…
Or a sociometer (yes I made that up… just now) thats pe***ng zero % left in the tank.
If you let your light shine so full all around you and on everything you do… that you don’t cast a shadow in any direction…. Who can throw shade on you?
Do what you do.
And enjoy it.
Work hard.
Get good at what you do.
When the wind tries to bend you… lean into it. It’ll eventually give up and blow away.
Give like you love them… cause you love them.
Sacrifice.
But dont complain about it.
That’s like a man with his right shoulder in the downpour of both the clouds and the shedding rush of an almost big enough umbrella… complaining because he’s keeping some beautiful woman that loves him with all her heart and soul… safe in a storm… Warm and dry.
Man… Don’t be that guy.
Think it through…
She loves you.
Water is just wet and sometimes cold…
But love… that will warm your soul.
That headlight that you stayed up late that night replacing for the love of your life… That 45 minutes that you’ll never get back…
Could have been the one and only thing that kept her out of a wreck… That would have taken away the one person that you’ll never forget… Or be able to replace… In a thousand life times…
That 45 minutes is an investment in the most precious possession…
That you’ll never possess… Her heart.
It’s yours don’t break it.
Just be blessed.
Be grateful that she trusts you so much, That she’ll never have to risk her life…
Because she knows… That night… You took the time and fixed it the right way.
Don’t complain cause you skinned a knuckle fixing those headlights… Be grateful that you got enough grit about you to skin your knuckle and still give… Even when you got no more to give.
When you’re empty… run lighter.
Your needle ain’t on E until you get to Z…
And if you’re wise… You’ll plan your A to T and leave enough room for U, V, W, X, Y, and Z to happen… cause they will happen.
Get the F filled up.
Eat right.
Move.
Lay out in the sun.
Take a walk.
Listen to epic music.
Breathe.
Be grateful.
Keep playing music.
Keep striving.
Be well.
Kindness is truly the only free thing left on this planet.
And the crazy thing is… the more you give it away freely and with reckless abandon… the more you get it back.
And listen… there ain’t nothing in this world sweeter than making your haters smile.
Don’t go around making people cry… that’s something even fools can do without trying.
And love… Love like you’re betting that you ain’t gonna wake up tomorrow… cause one day… you’re gonna win that bet…
Don’t regret it.
Don’t forget it.
Let it change you… Maybe the trick is to be intentional enough… To like who you become.

Cutting, splitting, and stacking wood ain’t ever easy… but cuddled up next to a fire… is always warm.
Share that warmth.
And smile like you know a secret you can barely keep.
