Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Matthew 5:6 | NIV

“HUNGER”

This will act as my word for the year.

Enough is enough for anything less than the presence of God.

The long and tedious paint process comes to an end and the finishing touches are complete. The back of the neck gets sprayed with satin for a super smooth feel and the headstock gets wet sanded and buffed. For this build we also did a custom painted plexiglass pickguard which required a few extra steps. Next up is assembly!

At the buffing stage the paint on the body bursts to life. Sparkle finishes like this look three dimensional in the light and all the tedious work of cutting and sanding and prepping pays off. Still, Chad doesn’t rush this either, making sure each stage of the paint process gets proper attention and care. Next on the list is to finish the back of the neck in satin giving every Jennings neck a signature smooth feel that’s super comfy in your hand. The matching headstock is the icing on the cake and connects the guitar seamlessly together.

The first coats of this black diamond metallic finish had our eyes popping with gleeful anticipation. The tight pattern fine flakes produce a very subtle shimmer when the light hits it just right. It appears like charcoal or silver in brighter light but stays black in dim environments. It certainly sparks curiosity with every turn.

The paint journey begins…

Staying tuned in and approaching each step deliberately and carefully is critical to get the end result just right. Beyond just paint and wood, Chad admits guitar making parallels our spiritual lives as well—staying present in each moment we’re given is crucial to a full and vibrant life.

Merry Christmas!! If y’all happened to pick up a Stadium and are prepping for your Christmas services, I’ve made my Signature Stadium Preset available!

You can watch a short walkthrough video on YouTube of this preset right now and a more detailed one is coming.

This is V1.0 and will receive several updates over time (which you’ll get for free, as always).

For now, this preset is voiced for humbuckers (though some singles will work fine with this) and I’ll be working on a single coil specific preset soon along with several other additional goodies.

This preset uses two Agoura amps and I’ve still found a way to cram in a ton of extra effects. I discovered a few tricks to get my reverbs to sit the way I like them and can confidently say this will be the preset I’m using for the foreseeable future when I reach for the Stadium.

More videos to come comparing it to the QC and Fractal, but the Stadium really is impressing me in so many ways and I especially love the way it’s sitting in the mix.

Praying for you all as you lead your churches to behold the Light of the world!

They did it! 10 years after the now legendary Kilt V1 was raucously unleashed into the world, the Kilt X has arrived for a special limited run.

The Kilt X isn’t just a rehoused V2 with a new graphic, it gives us a familiar yet slightly tweaked voice with a different clipping section that yields more dynamic range (better low gain tones), a re-voiced EQ which excels in clarity, and much more volume on tap to hit your edge-or-breakup amps harder.

I’ll just say, compared to my V1 and V2, it does have a unique thing going on. I find the tone k**b is more useful and can get much brighter than my V2. The V2 overall feels smoother and warmer. The V3 feels more aggressive but without harshness.

You still get the 4 modes of drive we know and love from the V2 as well as the red remote. There is no boost in the V3 but, to be fair, I use my external boost the majority of the time anyway.

JHS was kind enough to send me one to test before release but I did’t have time to put together a full video….YET. Check my YouTube for a follow up soon. I’ll be comparing the V1, V2 and the Aspen to the V3!

All guitars in this demo used the Kilt X using the following gear:

Guitar 1: Custom Voyager with Crema/Grinder

Guitar 2: Strat with Area pickups

Pedals:
DISOxo
Comp/Eq
Mobius, Timeline, BigSkyMX

Amps:
ToneX Captures
TS FAVS HB - CHIME
TS DR80 HB BLND GLDSC75

My “Signature” Preset for the FM9 is available now!

It combines the tone matched Chimera with the Z-80 to add extra width and texture you can’t get from the Chimera alone. This is the preset I’m using every time live and I’m blown away by the tones. As of right now, the FM9 is the king of modeling and the fidelity of the amps and effects are unmatched.

You’ll get the DR80 by itself in a standalone preset as well as the “DRCHIME” preset that pairs the two amps up.

Each preset contains 4 variations (controlled by the channels in the Amp and Cab blocks) that give you 2 voicings for humbuckers and 2 for single coils.

The full preset walkthrough is available on YouTube.

Guitar: Custom Voyager with Crema/Grinder

Songs:
Son of Suffering (you’re welcome for that sour note in there)
Faithful Now
Take You At Your Word
Firm Foundation

As one of the most important parts of the feel and playability of the guitar, Chad has perfected his necks for effortless playability and the smoothest feel we’ve experienced.
