Right after my brother's funeral, I was sent to the hole, alone for 9 days. The last thing my mom said was, "I need you to come home. I lost one, I can't lose another." I promised her I would. Then she didn't hear from me for 9 days.

The silence kills me. If I had been home, would things be different? Probably. He would have called, come over. My cousin overdosed, and I wasn't listening to his calls. I was busy doing my own thing. I should have been there. That's what haunts me in that cell.
