Rain After a Drought:
When rain finally hits after a long dry spell, the roads can become unexpectedly hazardous. During dry weather, oils and debris accumulate on the pavement. When the rain starts, it mixes with this layer, creating a slick, almost greasy surface. This is especially dangerous during the first hour of rainfall when the oils haven’t had time to wash away completely.
Driving on these roads can reduce your tires’ grip, making it harder to stop or turn safely. Accidents spike during these conditions, catching even experienced drivers off guard.

SLOW DOWN, Speedy McSpeedy Pants! Make sure your headlights are on, seatbelts are secured, you are giving your fellow drivers a fair amount of distance, don't brake hard in the rain, and drive courteously to wherever your destination takes you!
