As the State Delegate representing Tooele Precinct 19, my goal is to participate in all candidate events for State Candidates and provide updates on my attendance.

I aim to attend every event featuring a state candidate who comes to Tooele and am dedicated to approaching all candidates with an open mind leading up to the State Convention in May.

I want to clarify that I am not endorsing any candidate; I'm just sharing with you all the information and insights I've gathered.

This past Saturday, I attended a meeting with Colby Jenkins and Trent Staggs, and I'd like to offer a brief overview of each candidate.

If you reside in T19, please share your thoughts on the candidates with me so I can make an informed decision when voting for T19.

Colby Jenkins is running for Congress in Second Congressional District. He is a West Point graduate and former Army Special Forces Green Beret Colonel who served in Afganistan and in Latin America. He spoke about "lend[ing] his experience to correct our nation’s standing in the world" and how he will use his experiance to "limit the federal government’s reach into CD2 while empowering local leaders to have the freedom and decision-making space they need." colbyforutah.com

Later in the day, I attended an event for Trent Staggs. He is running for the Senate. Trent is a full-time entrepreneur and business owner with more than 20 years of experience running and managing successful Fortune 500 companies and also serves currently as the mayor of Riverton City where he has served for 10 years. He spoke about how he is committed to standing up against the establishment and his platform centers on smaller government, safer families and a stronger economy. trentstaggs.com

Thank you to the excellent work of Holly Crowley-Rabanne and her team, Melodi Gochis and Brian Shaw for T19 and all other Precinct Chairs, Vice Chairs and volunteers.

Last night's Republican Caucus was excellent despite some technological challanges. It was good to be with friends and neighbors engaged in an important process!

Please attend our Caucus & Presidential Preference Poll this coming Tuesday. Consider running for leadership positions in your precinct and/or serving as a State or County delegate. Having served as as vice precinct chair, and both a State and County delegate in the past, I encourage you to put your hat in the ring as it is both informative and fun.

Tooele PD reported today she was found deceased. Prayers for her family.

Please contact Tooele County dispatch if you have any information about Karen's whereabouts. I add my thoughts and prayers to the many already given and hope for the best for this family at this difficult time.

Congradulations to Ed Hansen, Justin Brady and Melodi Gochis. I am confident they will serve Tooele City well.

I am grateful for the past four years and look forward to the future of our town.

Today is Election Day. I hope you find the time to drop off your ballot or vote in person today if you haven't already done so (the time to mail your ballot has passed). Polls close at 8 pm.

I want to thank my fellow candidates for Tooele City Council as this campaign has been clean and I am proud to be part of a group that has not resorted to things we see in other cities and states than demean the process. They are a formidable group and all bring a lot to the table.

Regardless of tonight's results, I want to thank you all for the oppurtunity I have had to serve on Tooele City Council these past four years.

It has been a priviledge to serve and I am grateful. I wish to express my gratitude to Mayor Winn for her leadership and kindness to me, our city department heads and staff for their direction and friendship, Tooele City Police and Volunteer Fire Department for their inspiring service and commitment to our town, to my fellow council members for their friendship and leadership, and to you all. Thank you!
