Ute Mountain Royalty Coronation Ceremony Held at Ute Mountain Casino

On June 3, 2026, the Ute Mountain Casino Indian Village hosted the coronation of the new Ute Mountain Royalty, an event attended by community members and supporters from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

The evening began with a heartfelt farewell as outgoing Jr. Miss Ute Mountain princess Summer Marsh and Little Miss Ute Mountain princess Bailey Littlebear gracefully passed on their titles to the next generation of royalty for the 2026-2027 year.

In the competition for Jr. Miss Ute Mountain, contestants Rihanna May and Xavi Arrow Top Knot Wagner showcased their skills in various categories, including a talent presentation, answering questions about the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe and its cultural heritage, and a dance performance.

A panel of esteemed judges comprised of Antheeona Appawoo (Miss Ute Tribe), Autumn Sage (Miss Southern Ute Alternate), and Rhianna Carel (Miss San Juan Indigenous) evaluated the participants’ performances.

The evening’s guest speaker, Kansas Begay, a former Miss Indian World princess, inspired attendees with her encouraging words, emphasizing the importance of pursuing higher education and reaching for one’s dreams.

At the conclusion of the event, the newly crowned royalty was announced:

- Miss Ute Mountain: Ketiera Lopez
- Jr. Miss Ute Mountain: Xavi Arrow Top Knot Wagner
- Little Miss Ute Mountain: Jaylyn Begay

The ceremony celebrated not only the new titleholders but also the rich culture and tradition of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, fostering community pride and connection among attendees.
