Decision day at SF, many students made their post-grad plans and want to celebrate! Many times people will ask me why I do not post college names or destinations...personally I feel we should recognize this exciting milestone in their lives; wether it be staying close to TC or heading to Timbuktu each decision is worth celebration. On Ash Wednesday best buds Alayna and Juliana made their college decisions together!

160 strong the students of SF took to the streets of Washington D.C. to participate in the annual March for Life. Searching the media for coverage of the event, I noticed much of the verbiage declared this was an "anti-abortion" march, however, our students participated in a march for LIFE! We were celebrating ALL lives from conception until natural death. I had the privilege of walking next to a beautiful woman who was not marching, but rolling! She was a woman who was challenged by many physical struggles, needing the use a motorized wheelchair for mobility and a computer for communication! She too was celebrating the beauty and dignity of life...even when life is difficult! This march was a message of love and compassion for all persons, the dignity of all people: infants, the homeless, those who struggle physically, those who battle mental illness, the elderly, the minority, all people...children of God! It was so beautiful to watch our students share in this expression of love....they were truly amazing! May this expression of love continue to grow in their hearts and the hearts of everyone! ❤️

ON BEHALF OF MRS. ZAMARRON

Hello good St. Francis parents,

God is good! He has provided us with a too-good-to-pass-up opportunity -- beginning this evening.

Patty Schneier, nationally renowned Catholic speaker, was the keynote speaker at yesterday’s women’s conference hosted by Absolute Catholic and held at Christ the King Church. Over 200 area women attended and were inspired by her knowledge of the faith, humor, humility and passion for Christ and His Church.

Patty has graciously agreed to come share her talk, “True Love, How Will I Know?” with our high school students during an assembly at the end of the day on Monday.

To allow parents the opportunity to hear for themselves the message she will share tomorrow, Mrs. Schneier will be offering a parent talk this evening in the St. Clare Chapel at the high school. This talk is titled, “Parents Get Real. Talk To Your Teen About Real Love!" Tonight’s talk is free, and will run from 7-8:30 pm.. Last minute, yes! But it promises to be well worth your time if you can make it.

In our partnership with you, our parents, we of course look to you to decide if you would like for your son or daughter to participate in this opportunity. If you DO NOT want your student to participate in Monday's presentation, please opt out by emailing Kathy Hunt no later than noon tomorrow, January 23.

Thank you!

Last night we held our Navigating the College Process information session for our junior families who are going to begin the college application process. It can be daunting and sometimes scary, but rest assured, WE are HERE TO HELP! I will be following up in classes providing some of the same information to our students who were not in attendance. STEP #1: Finish your high school resume and start asking teacher for letters of recommendation. STEP #2: Start researching schools and plan to make a visit! Many schools will host a junior visit day and these will be posted on their websites. STEP #3: Narrow down your college list and know the requirements that are necessary prior to applying. STEP #4: Start applying as early as June 2017 and have all applications completed prior to next school year.

The upcoming senior KAIROS retreat is happening this weekend... and our senior leaders have worked very hard to make this a special retreat for their classmates. PLEASE pray the students attending this year's retreat will use this time, God's time, to draw closer to Him. We are all so busy, so scheduled, so attached to "today" that sometimes we need time to quiet ourselves...to hear the message God is trying to send. Keep those prayers comin'!
