Let’s talk a little bit about box color, splat, and henna and how it can affect your appointment. Pricing goes off having hair that can do the service you booked. When it’s not you run into a correctional service. Even during corrections something’s can’t be fixed. For example henna stains the outside of the hair shaft, same with splat and both usually need to be cut out of the hair to remove it. When it comes to box color as long as it doesn’t contain metallic salts, fabric dyes, or other problematic ingredients you can usually correct it, however managing expectations is important. It likely will take more than one session, it will likely cost more to get to your end goal, and it’ll be more of a project than dying with non box color. I understand why people use box dye and in no way judge for it. But know it may impact you getting the hair you want later down the road.
The client below we test stranded and knew how she was going to lift and what could be done in one session. She was a great client and open minded to the steps to get to her end goal over a few appointments and we loveee where we got for this session. Zero damage, zero surprises, and great hair. The reason we were able to achieve this in one session is because she was transparent about the box color and what brand ( a lot of ppl arnt and it actually sets you back if the correct steps arnt taken due to lack of transparency), she was realistic with expectations, and willing to have a longer appointment to get the results we needed.
