Collin may have gotten off the PCT, but his adventures weren’t over yet! He still had a few days with Aunt Lori before heading home.

First up, we headed to San Francisco, with one very important stop along the way… Collin’s first In-N-Out!

He went with a Double-Double Animal Style, and believe it or not, it was my first time trying Animal Style too.

For those who don’t know, Animal Style means mustard-grilled patties, grilled onions, extra spread and pickles.

We both approved!

PCT Day 104

Neon hiked 25.3 miles today, hiking along with Bags, (who we all got to meet at Sonora Pass with Gus) and it was a BIG milestone day.

FINALLY out of California & into Oregon!
He also hit the 1,700-mile mark.

It was a great day with lots of trail magic, including a nice surprise right after crossing into Oregon where some fine folks had everything set up for passing hikers.

So far, Oregon is treating Neon just fine.

Camping tonight at Grouse Gap Shelter. Unlike the AT, shelters on the PCT are few and far between, so this is a pretty cool place to spend the night.

25.3 miles closer to Canada.

DAY 104 | BIG EVENT #2…
1,700 MILES!

Neon officially hit the 1,700-mile mark on the Pacific Crest Trail. That means about 950 miles to go until Canada.

He’s come a long way, but there’s still a lot of trail ahead. Will Neon make it all the way to Canada?Follow along and find out.

DAY 104 • BIG EVENT #1

GOODBYE, CALIFORNIA! 👋

On Day 104, Neon officially crossed the California/Oregon border and made it to OREGON! 🌲

One state down. Two to go.

California was a LONG one. 😂

Oregon, Neon has arrived!

But remember… Neon said there were TWO big events today. 👀

Neon says TWO big things are happening on Day 104… 👀

Think you know what they are?

Quick Collin update: He made it safely back to the East Coast this morning! ❤️

I still have plenty of our adventures to share from before he left… but now that Collin’s home, Neon is about to get another hiking partner!

Any guesses who’s joining him on the PCT next week? 👇

Meanwhile… what did Lori & Collin do after saying goodbye to Neon?

We pointed the truck back toward Truckee, but after all those trail miles, Collin had definitely earned one more BIG meal.

Less than an hour from home, we stopped at Los Dos Hermanos for lunch/dinner, where Collin celebrated the end of his PCT adventure with this monster burrito. Because apparently 250 miles of hiking creates an appetite.

Then it was back to Truckee for Aunt Lori & Collin…

But our adventures weren’t quite over yet.

Stay tuned….

PCT Day 103 | 29.5 Miles

Day 103 started with some hard goodbyes. Neon said goodbye to Collin & Lori and headed out from Erica and Amber’s place. We seriously can’t thank these two enough for everything they do, not just for us, but for the entire trail community. They are truly some of the good ones!

And then… Seiad Valley made him pay for all that hospitality.

The climb out of Seiad Valley is no joke and is considered one of the biggest climbs on the entire PCT. Neon spent the day climbing through road walk, forest road and trail, and somehow still knocked out 29.5 miles.

He also ran a little too close for comfort on water, but made it through.

Then, just to make sure the day wasn’t exciting enough, while camping alone that night he spotted a bear near camp. Not gonna lie, that one made him a little nervous. Thankfully, the bear moved along and didn’t come back.

29.5 miles, a brutal climb, almost out of water and a bear at bedtime. Just another relaxing day on the PCT.

Would you take the Seiad Café Pancake Challenge?

Before Neon headed out of Seiad Valley, his friend Sherpa decided to take on one of the PCT’s legendary food challenges.

5 GIANT pancakes. They claim each one weighs a little over a pound, so that’s more than 5 pounds of pancakes.

Finish the entire stack and they’re FREE.

Don’t finish? That’ll be $40.

And just look at Sherpa’s face. He was feeling pretty confident when this started.

Here’s the funny part… Neon didn’t stick around long enough to find out how it ended, so we don’t even know the answer yet!

What do you think?

Did Sherpa finish all 5 or did he end up paying the $40?
