Are you homeschooling your kids, and you wanna find a way to organize this stuff?

Here’s something I created that might be helpful.

We created a “school shelf” in our house, and I’ve seen different versions of these online on Pinterest and places, and what I found, we just needed not a whole entire room, but just a designated kind of little are.

I have this shelf that has workbooks on the bottom.

There’s a puzzle that my kids like to do, and then what I’ve found is really helpful is having an actual charging station.

I know my plants are kind of covering it up here, but I have a basket with the cords in here and a power strip, and then the devices can be right here next to it, and so they can just be charging right here on this shelf, then this little basket has a little cord that runs over to the wall to plug into it.

And then up here, I have another bin that has some extra little tools and games and things like that that we like to use, along with my son’s 3D printing filament for his little pen.

And then up here are the projects that they’re still working on, their little crafts and projects.

…so this whole area is where we can keep everything kind of on deck for them so that they feel like they can come right back to it, but it doesn’t have it where it’s completely spread out all over all the surfaces the rest of the time.

So tell me how you guys like to keep things organized?

We have been finding is really helpful in our house, is having- we call it the school shelf or the education shelf, when they ask, “Where’s this? Where is that?” I say, “Check the school shelf,” and the kids can keep organized themselves.

Are you subconsciously sabotaging your sales and not scaling your company the way you thought you would by now because you are afraid that you won’t have time to even be able to give to those clients if they come in or if they sign on for more things?

You have to have clear schedule structure and hack your time,
TENFOLD YOUR TIME,
so that you can indeed serve all these clients and really scale your company and take on that growth you know you’re meant for.

This all comes down to the way you structure your days and your calendar,
in time blocks,
focused time blocks.

Go into flow state.

Make sure you have one focus day every single week to do this.

You can get a week’s worth of work done in that one day, a 3 to 5 hour time block of flow state energy where you’re not talking to another single soul out there.

It’s inner work,
writing copy,
recording content,
doing the deep work,
building funnels,
all these things that you know you need to get done to work on your business behind the scenes.

This is done in your flow state day.

Make sure you have one a week.

The other days are your days for your connection and your nurturing and your outreach.

…then the magic is in the buffer time and the transition time.

This is when all those loops that you keep opening, you have the time to close those loops, is in that buffer time and in that transition time.

If you do not have this kind of structure in your schedule, you are secretly sabotaging your sales and your business will not scale.

…wanna learn more?

Come on over to my Tenfold Your Life Community!

And we will create your clear schedule structure so you can scale!

Business happens in the buffer time.
What does that mean?
That means when you get off a call with somebody, build buffer time into your calendar so that you can follow up with people right then and there.

This means if you get off of a networking call, build 30-minute buffer time in to your calendar right after it so you can go and look up all those people on social media, follow them, send them a quick message.

You can even use a canned response that you have saved to be as quick as possible.

But reach out to everybody who you just met to create this new relationship.

Or if it’s somebody that you already know that you saw again, so that you can nurture that relationship, send them a message as well.

And so this is how business is built.

Business is built on relationships, and relationships are made in buffer time.

Every time you get off calls, follow up with people.

Every time you think of somebody, send them a quick message.

Every time you’re on a podcast, send over some good information that they can share with their audience.

This is how business is built, is in the buffer time.

Start putting buffer time in your calendar to create all these opportunities to close the loops of all these activities you’re already doing and all these calls.

Business is built in the buffer time!

🏮Celebrating Lunar New Year at my fav local tea house, then hitting up my youngest’s fav too for a tea tour!

Yall know how much I looooove tea.

And my absolute fav is the high quality loose leaf teas from Seven Cups that I drink every single day… so of course we had to ring in the year of the Fire Horse at their annual celebration, and then we stayed for tea service with yummy authentic chinese tea snacks and he liked the new Wulong tea we tried so much I got him his own bag of it.

Next we stopped into Scented Tea Leaf Teahouse for his fav shark bite tea drink and my fav, the herbal blend “Evening in Missoula” (try it!) and enjoyed relaxing in their newly expanded space,
which,
sidenote…
My teenage daughter has a brilliant idea to create a teenagers’ used bookstore / crafting / gathering space with a similar vibe… plants, yummy drinks, and special reading nooks and natural light… who would go to a used bookstore like that? 🙋🏼‍♀️
Put some jigsaw puzzles on tables too, and I’m so in!

‘Twas a lovely Saturday Valentines date with my youngest kiddo. Tea tour. Celebrations. Great day. 🥰🍵

Something new we’re doing this year is homeschooling, and while my kids do go to a micro-school pod kind of co-op thing for some of the days, the days that they are home, I like to keep everything organized in one spot.

We call this the school shelf, and it’s just right here in the main area, because I’ve found that if I sent them to their rooms to go work on stuff in their rooms, they felt isolated.

They wanted to be involved with the rest of us, they wanna be in project mode out here with us.

So the school shelf is right here in the main area, and we have on here workbooks, some books, resource books, inspiration books, and then we have these bins that have the devices, including a basket right here that has all the charging cords, a power strip, so that way everything, all those cords can be contained in a nice little basket.

And then it just runs right over here to the devices to charge them right on the spot here, this is a nice little area where they can keep things organized, projects that they’re still working on up here, a 3D lamp that actually my husband printed on our 3D printer, so this keeps everything organized for us, for our homeschool adventure that we’ve embarked on this year!

Let me know any of the cool tips and tricks that you have found in your homeschooling journey as well!

What are hummingbird days on your calendar? These are the days where I say that you’re flitting from task to task, you’re doing a lot of outward outreach with other people.

This could be with your team members,
this could be with prospects,
this could, could be with clients,
this could be with your coaches.

These are where you’re hopping on calls and you’re mixing and mingling with people,
you’re getting ideas,
you’re getting inspiration,
you’re creating content,
you’re sending emails,
you’re answering DMs.

These are your hummingbird days.

…what happens as entrepreneurs is we can spend all of our days of the entire week in hummingbird mode,
that we never have time for creation and the deep work and getting in flow state to truly build!

…so we need to make one day a week be our set day for flow state creation mode,
where we don’t talk to anybody else,
we only talk to ourselves.

We write copy,
we design stuff,
we create stuff,
we plan.

This is your flow state focus mode.

I call it a phoenix day.

You need to have one phoenix day a week, and the rest of your days can be your hummingbird days.

…from there, so much more impact can be made, and you will compress the time it takes to reach goals, and EXPAND the time you have for yourself and your loved ones!

Are you losing valuable time to “time tax”?!
Do your days have a combination of creation and marketing and meeting with your team and meeting with clients all jumbled together?

Are you going from task to task to task,

Are you are paying a “time tax” on your own schedule from having to switch modes between all those different things?

Batch your meetings.
batch your tasks
…so that you have one day just for creation,
and this is your flow state focus mode.

I call them Phoenix days

It’s ‘cause you burn brightly and then you really go in intense mode, and then you crumble to ashes at the end of it, and you wait until the following week or at least, like, two or three days later before you go back into that mode again.

Intense burning creation time.

You’ll get so much done in that 3-5 hour time block, almost like a week’s worth of work or two weeks worth of work!
…instead of the productivity cost of flitting from task to task

The rest of your days are then whenever you can do outward-facing engagement with clients, with team members, with your coaches.

Those are your hummingbird days.
…so separate the two types of work that you do.

…separate the energy, and you will have a much more productive week! And FEEL more ease and more balanced while being productive with TIME MASTERY through Energy Management!

PS, Greetings from one of our fav local tea places… who knows which one this is?

Now everyone’s asking, “Brenda, how did you even come to set up this Family Kanban Board system that you’re using for family workflows in your own household?”

Which is like basically workflows in a business, but setting it up in a household format so it clearly communicates the tasks that need to be done in the household, and who is handling those tasks, and at what stage they are at.

So everybody can see, and also the person who’s working on it can be reminded to come back to this, make sure they have it done by a certain amount of time, and also just to have a good visual of, like, all the things that they already did accomplish, so that they can feel a sense of accomplishment and celebration for that as well.

How did I even come to do this?

Well, it all started with just putting some Post-it notes on the fridge and telling all my kids, “Hey, guys, I need some help with some stuff around the house. Everybody go pick three of those Post-it notes, and then when you’re done, move them over here to this little magnet under your face to say that it’s done.”

It then progressed from that to a version on the wall,
which we had some painter’s tape and Post-its,
to now this version,
and this seems to be working really well for us.

And so if you have any questions, let me know!

09/02/2026

How do I use a family Kanban board in my house?
…as you can see, I have the different categories along the top for where each task is in the workflow process.

This is just like in business, following workflows:

the things that are on deck - TO DO,
the things that are IN PROGRESS,
and the things that are DONE,

and what does done look like?

Having that clearly defined.

…then we have over here the members of the family, and the way I do it in my household is I have certain tasks that belong to each family member on a regular basis, like one of my kids has a hamster, so he has to clean out its cage.

The kids do their own laundry, things like that.

But then there’s other things that they can go down here to the “PICK PILE”, and they pick out, right now, the number is four things per week that they pick, and then they rotate through what those things are, whether those are cleaning the windows or cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming the rug.

I’ve separated out different things that kids can do, versus the things that my husband and I can do.

…so this is how we have our Family Kanban Board set up, and I’ll tell you more about it in the next video!
