SpeakerBox X SpeakerBox X…where multifaceted music, “News of the Weird,” and life collide under one roof!!!

SpeakerBox X (SBX) was born out of our love for underground hiphop. The reason for the name SpeakerBox is pretty self-explanatory, but the X at the end is what matters. The letter X is commonly used to represent unknown circumstances and that it what SBX strives to deliver: hiphop that is unknown and unpredictable. We want to spread awareness about the origins of hiphop and how it has evolved, as

well as dispel negative viewpoints of the genre that have been perpetuated by mainstream culture and media. Hiphop is a genre that has deep roots in revolution and community and it is the goal of SpeakerBox X to showcase songs that are socially conscious, radical and moving that you won't hear in corporate radio or see on the Billboard charts.

Surprisingly, the average Medieval peasant may have had more time off than today’s American worker. Though peasants worked roughly 1,980 hours per year—slightly more than the modern U.S. average of 1,777 hours—they did so across fewer days. With only about 180 actual workdays each year, they enjoyed around 185 days off, largely due to religious holidays, festivals, and seasonal breaks.

In contrast, the average American works about 233 days annually and takes just 132 days off. While modern jobs often offer more comfort and flexibility, the medieval work schedule—though physically demanding—allowed for longer breaks and more frequent rest periods throughout the year.
