Personal post: I can shimmy out of my waist beads
There are so many explanations for waist beads, who can wear them, who should see them, etc. I remember a security guard at one of my favorite nightclubs cautioning (read: benevolently admonishing) to conceal my waist beads. I remember putting these ones on and thinking that being able to get them off would be a good marker of my body goals.
I’ve been engaging my fellow fat girls about navigating social interactions after losing weight. It’s been a little revelatory.
However, I don’t have conversations about my weight with people whom I don’t generally discuss my physical health. I’m glad to be at an age and level of dgaf to firmly tell family members the same. If we can’t discuss my cycle or s*x life, we can’t discuss my weight. Period.
Either way, I shimmied out of my waist beads recently and I’m happy about it. Aside, if you think it’s a hot body, it’s a hot body. Now, look!
