𝐀 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐞: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬
Early voting for Tullahoma City Schools school board is upon us, and it seems there’s a lot of confusion surrounding this particular process, so we’ll break it down the best we can.
If you are in Tullahoma and want a vote in this school board election, you 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 vote in the Republican primary. Since only Republican candidates are running in this race, the four—three four-year terms, one two-year term—who win on March 5 (Super Tuesday) will be your school board representatives. This is because there were no challengers from other parties to the election; therefore, it’s moot to include them on the regular ballot once the winners of the Republican primary are decided.
You 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 select the Republican political party to vote in this primary election for Tullahoma School Board candidates. If you often vote Democrat, it's important to do otherwise this time; you can’t vote on school board seats for the children of Tullahoma otherwise.
The ballot list might feel overwhelming because it covers presidential candidates, county seats and delegates. You don’t have to vote for every slot if you’re not comfortable choosing people you’re not familiar with; the point is to vote, period.
You also do not have to pre-register for a certain party; it’s done on-site at the polling places (they will ask). And how you vote in this primary has no bearing on how or who you have to vote for in the general federal election in November: You may vote for candidates of either party in a general election, regardless of what you declare during early voting or on the March 5 primary.
