VERDIGRIS, Okla. — A commercial structure in Verdigris was destroyed by fire in the early morning hours of Monday, February 23, prompting a multi-department emergency response. According to the Verdigris Fire Department, crews were dispatched shortly after 1:00 a.m. to a reported structure fire at Global Sealcoating Inc. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a fully engulfed building, with flames and heavy smoke visible throughout the structure. Given the intensity of the fire, additional resources were requested through mutual aid agreements. Firefighters from Catoosa, Limestone, Claremore, Fair Oaks, and Oak Grove responded to assist in suppression efforts. Crews worked in coordinated operations to contain the blaze and prevent further spread. Despite their efforts, the building sustained catastrophic damage and has been deemed a total loss. Authorities confirmed that no occupants were present inside the structure at the time the fire ignited. No injuries to civilians or emergency personnel have been reported. Firefighters remained on scene for several hours conducting overhaul operations to extinguish remaining hot spots and ensure the area was secure. At this time, the cause and origin of the fire remain under active investigation. Officials have not released additional details regarding potential contributing factors.

On February 18th 2026 A juvenile male was taken into custody following a coordinated drug trafficking operation that resulted in the seizure of approximately 230 grams of fentanyl Wednesday evening in Tulsa. The arrest occurred shortly before 8 p.m. near the intersection of 5th Street and Sheridan Road, in front of the 2+2 ma*****na dispensary. Authorities say the location was part of a targeted investigation into suspected narcotics distribution activity in the area. According to officials, the operation was carried out by the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics in partnership with the Lighthorse Tribal Police. Investigators had reportedly been working to identify and apprehend the individual as part of a broader effort to disrupt organized drug trafficking operations. During the operation, agents recovered approximately 230 grams of fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid that has been linked to a significant rise in overdose deaths nationwide. The juvenile male was taken into custody without incident. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case, including how the juvenile allegedly became involved in the distribution of such a dangerous substance. Officials have not yet released additional information regarding potential charges or whether others may be connected to the investigation.
