VERDIGRIS, Okla. — A commercial structure in Verdigris was destroyed by fire in the early morning hours of Monday, February 23, prompting a multi-department emergency response. According to the Verdigris Fire Department, crews were dispatched shortly after 1:00 a.m. to a reported structure fire at Global Sealcoating Inc. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a fully engulfed building, with flames and heavy smoke visible throughout the structure. Given the intensity of the fire, additional resources were requested through mutual aid agreements. Firefighters from Catoosa, Limestone, Claremore, Fair Oaks, and Oak Grove responded to assist in suppression efforts. Crews worked in coordinated operations to contain the blaze and prevent further spread. Despite their efforts, the building sustained catastrophic damage and has been deemed a total loss. Authorities confirmed that no occupants were present inside the structure at the time the fire ignited. No injuries to civilians or emergency personnel have been reported. Firefighters remained on scene for several hours conducting overhaul operations to extinguish remaining hot spots and ensure the area was secure. At this time, the cause and origin of the fire remain under active investigation. Officials have not released additional details regarding potential contributing factors.
