"You know the 80s miss you, right? Let me guess: no one even talks face to face anymore. Here, we're out 'til the streetlights come on.

You should stay! The world feels real here. We've got mix tapes, Friday night diners, cruising down Burnside in your friend's Camaro... what's 2025 got?

Yo, what are you even doing in 2025? Out there, it looks like everyone's glued to their phones, chasing nothing. No block parties, no Friday night hangout. Do you even remember what it's like really to be here?

Out here, time doesn't race; it breathes... and if you've forgotten that, then maybe that's why the 80s are calling you back.

Yo: you coming, or what?

You don't get it. The 80s wasn't just about neon lights or mix tapes. It was about being here. Actually being with people. No screens in your face, no noise from the future, just the moment.

The 80s miss you. We all do.

Maybe it's time you came back."

The 80s are waiting for you, right now, on BlackLight Radio. Listen on our website, on Live365, on TuneIn, on your phone, on your smart speaker, on your TV.

Come back, & remember with us.

You knew you knew those background vocals, but you didn't know who they were. Now you know! Richard Marx sang background (at age 19!) on Lionel Richie's "All Night Long."

This is a charming pop music twist!

TRIVIA: The success of Taco's "Puttin' On The Ritz" (1982) cover made 95-year-old Irving Berlin the oldest living songwriter ever with a single in the Top 10 of the Hot 100. Berlin was 101 when he died in 1989.

"Puttin' On the Ritz" is a song written by Irving Berlin. He wrote it in May 1927 and first published it on December 2, 1929. It was registered as an unpublished song on August 24, 1927 and again on July 27, 1928. It was introduced by Harry Richman and chorus in the musical film Puttin' On the Ritz (1930). According to The Complete Lyrics of Irving Berlin, this was the first song in film to be sung by an in*******al ensemble. The title derives from the slang expression "to put on the Ritz", meaning to dress very fashionably. This expression was in turn inspired by the opulent Ritz Hotel in London.

The song received renewed popularity in 1982 when Taco, a Dutch musician, recorded and released a new version of the song. Taco's version was accompanied by a music video, which aired on MTV and other music video networks and programs.
The single was a global hit, reaching No. 1 on Cash Box as well as No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making Irving Berlin, then 95, the oldest ever living songwriter to have one of his compositions enter the top ten.

It was certified gold by the RIAA for selling over one million copies. It was Taco's only hit in the United States. This version of the song was ranked No. 53 in VH1's 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders of the 80s special.
