In the news industry you work odd hours and holidays. You trauma bond over the difficult stories and share in the unique experiences (like holding baby kangaroos). Through that you grow close, like family, with your coworkers. Rodney is that to me, family. And right now he is going through the unimaginable of caring for his wife through hospice care. I’m ashamed to admit that I haven’t always put my family over my career. Rodney is the opposite. He’s given up PTO and paychecks to be by his wife’s side when she was sick. In the 3 years we worked together, I admired that about him. His selflessness put into perspective for me where my priorities were lacking. I’m so thankful for that! Now, as he prepares to say goodbye to his bride he’s feeling the weight of it all and could use prayers and support.
