Fifteen years ago, I was broken, lost, angry, addicted, and honestly headed toward a grave long before my time. There were nights I slept in my car, days I didn’t recognize the man in the mirror, and moments I truly didn’t think I’d survive.
But God had other plans.
Somehow, through grace I didn’t deserve, He pulled me out of places I never thought I’d come back from. He rebuilt my life piece by piece. What once looked impossible became a testimony.
Today I wake up to a life I used to think belonged to somebody else:
A family I love.
A purpose.
A career.
A front porch instead of a backseat.
Peace instead of chaos.
And while I don’t talk about every part of that journey often… this song does.
“Smoke I Came From” is more than just a song to me.
It’s a reminder that redemption is real.
That people can change.
That God still rescues people from the darkest places imaginable.
If you’re fighting addiction, depression, shame, or the weight of your past… please hear me when I say this:
Your story is not over.
