After ignoring warnings from investigative journalist Leroy Truth, the head of the NJ Senate Judiciary Committee, State Senator & Union City Mayor Brian Stack, allegedly hired a would-be cop killer to work inside his Union City City Hall office!
And here is the outrageous double-standard:
When Union City Schools brought in Lillo Brancato โ a man convicted in connection with a police officerโs death โ police unions statewide erupted in outrage, and rightfully so.
But NOT ONE of those same people expressed outrage when JOSEAN, one of Stackโs close political workers, involved in a near-miss cop-killing incident, was placed inside Union City City Hall, paid with taxpayer dollars, working just feet away from Union City police officers, and even sent to harass, block, and intimidate journalist Leroy Truth at public campaign events.
Why was there national outrage over Lillo โ who did NOT pull the trigger on the officer โ
โฆbut total silence about JOSEAN, who police say reached for a loaded 9mm handgun with hollow-points during a struggle with officers?
Where was the outrage then?
Where is the outrage now?
And where was the outrage from Colonel Patrick Callahan, who was contacted by journalist Leroy Truth with this exact warning โ that JOSEAN DIAZ was working for Mayor & Senator Brian Stack inside Union City, NJ City Hall after being charged AFTER STRUGGLING WITH HIS GUN LOAD WITH HOLLOW POINT BULLETS DURING A TRAFFIC STOP?
Callahan ignored it โ completely.

According to New Jersey 101.5 and multiple police statements, a routine traffic stop in Rochelle Park nearly turned into another dead police officer.
When Officer Chris Kiszka removed the driver from the vehicle:
๐ The driver began reaching for his waistband โ where police later found a 9mm handgun loaded with hollow-point bullets.
Police reported:
โThe driver and officer struggled briefly in front of a 7-Elevenโฆ Officers later recovered a 9mm loaded with hollow-points from his waistband.โ
โThe driver, Josean Diaz, 21, of Union City, was charged with **unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of hollow-point bullets, resisting arrest, obstruction, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute.โ
โ ๏ธ This was a near-miss cop-killing incident.
If officers hadnโt moved fast, an officer could have died.
And THIS is the man Brian Stack allegedly hired and brought into Union City City Hall, inside the building, near officers, near the public, and used at campaign events to block and harass journalist Leroy Truth.

In March 2019, Union City Schools hosted Lillo Brancato, the actor from โA Bronx Taleโ and โThe Sopranos,โ as keynote speaker at a massive student assembly.
Documented facts:
๐น Lillo Brancato served 8 years in prison for his role in the killing of NYPD Officer Daniel Enchautegui.
๐น Officer Enchautegui confronted Brancato and an accomplice during a burglary; the accomplice shot and killed the officer.
๐น Brancato was acquitted of murder but convicted of attempted burglary โ legally tied to the crime that killed the officer.
๐น His appearance was organized by:
โข The Union City Board of Education, and
โข The New Jersey Reentry Corporation (NJRC), led by former Governor Jim McGreevey.
Law-enforcement response was explosive:
๐ Union City FOP Lodge 216 and PBA Local 8 condemned the decision.
๐ NYPD PBA President Pat Lynch blasted it:
โNo school district should let Lillo Brancato anywhere near its students.โ
๐ฎโโ๏ธ Union City, NJ Police Chief Nichelle Luster publicly agreed.
The Union City Board of Education issued a rare apology, admitting it was โa mistake.โ
So letโs be clear:

โข A man tied to a copโs killing was put in front of hundreds of children.
โข A man who allegedly reached for a loaded 9mm at police was allegedly hired and placed inside City Hall, paid by taxpayers, close to law enforcement, and reportedly used to harass an investigative journalist.
This is not coincidence.
This is a pattern โ a dangerous one.

Colonel Patrick J. Callahan โ New Jerseyโs top State Police commander โ is retiring at the end of 2025.
He is leaving office embraced by accolades and political praise.
But here is the truth:
๐ Leroy Truth repeatedly contacted NJ SUPERINTENDENT COLONEL PATRICK Callahan with documented warnings that:
โข JOSEAN, charged in a would-be cop-killing scenario, was hired inside Union City City Hall,
โข Was working under the political operation of Brian Stack,
โข Was present at public campaign events,
โข Was involved in blocking and harassing a journalist Leroy Truth
โข And was working mere feet away from Union City, NJ police officers while under serious weapons charges.
โ Callahan never responded.
โ Never acknowledged it.
โ Never investigated how someone charged with reaching for a loaded handgun DURING A POLICE TRAFFIC STOP could be placed inside a government building under the man who oversees police and the judiciary.
Now he retires โ with applause โ while Union Cityโs dangerous patterns continue unchallenged.
