The anemometer on my car finally broke going down the highway. Honestly I’m surprised such a low price station lasted so long. The sensors went out awhile back, but the unit itself has held up. In the year and a half that I’ve had it, this thing has been through a lot. It’s traveled over 30,000 miles and has been in roughly a dozen different states. It’s been inside 2 tornadoes, and seen several other tornadoes. It’s been in the eye wall of a hurricane. It’s seen winter storms, flash floods, destructive winds, and baseball sized hail. Every supercell I’ve chased, it’s been there.

The stories it would tell if it could talk.

GREAT NEWS!!! In a new update this evening from the Kerr County Sheriff's Office it’s stated that the number of missing people in Kerr County is now believed to be 3 instead of 100+. Most of the people reported as missing have been located alive and safe!!!

Thankfully this summer seems like it’s been slightly cooler than normal. However as we go towards the end of the month things really start heating up. Above average temperatures can be expected for most of the country.

Spaghetti models on Invest 93L are really trending on a more northern track. If this is the case it will be a weaker system. However, if it tracks further south it will have more time over the warm Gulf waters and would be a stronger system.

Normally I chase tornadoes, supercells, and hurricanes. This month I’ve been intercepting flash floods. It’s important to observe these flood conditions and report them so folks downstream can get the proper warning.
