Flood threat is INCREASING across east Texas overnight through tomorrow! Widespread rain totals of 2-4” expected with some locations potentially seeing 6+ inches!

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued along the Red River Valley until 10:00PM. This includes portions of southern Oklahoma, northern Texas, and southwestern Arkansas.

Hazards include:

🌪️A couple tornadoes

🥚Hail up to chicken egg size

💨Damaging winds up to 75 mph

Severe weather returns to east Texas overnight tonight. Damaging winds and hail will be the main hazards. Tornado threat is low but not zero. I doubt I will be out chasing, but I will likely be live here on Facebook doing radar coverage.

61 mph wind gust measured at Medicine Lodge Airport in southern Kansas moments ago! This complex of storms is continuing to push to the northeast! Places like Cunningham, Kingman, Preston, Freeport, and Belmont….y’all need to be getting into you safe places!

A very distinct gust front has prompted a severe thunderstorm warning west of Lubbock, TX!
60 mph likely along the leading edge. Notice the outflow visible on radar.

Development probabilities for both tropical waves are rising over the next 7 days, with the orange area indicating a 50% chance and the red area an 80% chance. The east coast should be paying very close attention!!
