Today begins a 4 day stretch of Severe Weather Potential for Eastern Nebraska and Majority of The State of Iowa. The storms for today(Friday) are expected to develop after 5pm and linger into the early overnight hours. Primary Threats will be Large Hail in excess of 2" of Diameter and Damaging Winds of 75mph+ are possible, tornado chances are low but not zero. SPC has almost all of Iowa in an Enhanced Risk (Level 3/5). All modes of Severe Weather will be possible everyday through Monday evening. Stay alert these next few days and stay safe. More information to come later on.

Severe storms are expected to develop this afternoon around 2pm Over Omaha or just off to the West and move into Western and Central Iowa. These storms will start as supercells and could become Tornadic quickly after initial storm development, they will then become a squalline of thunderstorms, mainly capable of damaging winds though a QLCS tornado or 2 is not impossible. Stay alert and pay attention to changing conditions as the day goes on. Stay Safe!

Newest Run is a bit concerning between 1pm and 4pm tomorrow (Wednesday) Strong Severe Storm Tracks (SSTs). These tracks indicate where Damaging Wind, Large Hail, and Tornadoes could occur. These colors in particular indicating a potential tornado track(s). So stay weather aware tomorrow especially across Dodge,Butler, Douglas, Sarpy, and Washington Counties in Nebraska and Pottawattamie, Harrison, Cass, Shelby, Crawford, Audubon, Guthrie and Adair Counties in Iowa. More updates to come! Stay safe and take any and all warnings issued seriously!

The last couple days I've been Watching for possible Severe Weather outbreak Monday and Tuesday across Eastern Nebraska and Majority of Iowa both days. We're still 4-5 days out and things could change, but right now severe weather is looking more and more likely across the area. Stay up to date on latest forecasts, and I'll be updating more when we get closer.

As stated in earlier posts Round 2 of the Severe Weather is this afternoon/evening, The risks all remain for all modes of severe weather. The more significant threat appears to still be on the Iowa side of the Missouri River. So If you live within the circled area on this map be alert to quickly changes conditions this evening. Around the 6pm timeframe Models have been consistent in showing what could be a likely tornado track through Cass County Iowa and right through the City of Atlantic. It is not a 100% for certain going to happen as initial location of these storms developing will determine where this may occur at, as a very slight shift in where they develop could move this track in any direction in the circled area. So anyone from Harlan, Atlantic, Red Oak, Audubon,Guthrie center, and Adair areas should be Weather Aware this evening. Have a way to recieve warnings and be prepared to seek shelter immediately if a warning is issued , these storms will be moving quickly! Stay Safe and Stay Alert!

Round 1 of potential Severe Weather begins tonight across Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa, Primary threat would be hail 1"-1.5" in diameter and maybe a couple gusty winds timeframe will be after 10pm tonight into the really morning hours Friday, Round 2 Friday afternoon brings potential for more threats including Large Hail, Damaging Winds and a Tornado or 2 is possible. Storms will begin to develop around 3pm in south central Iowa and move east into Iowa. Greatest threat for Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa will be the 3pm-8pm timeframe. Greatest Tornado threat would be along and South of the I-80 Corridor of Iowa but chances do remain possible for tornadoes as far north as Carroll, Iowa. These storms will likely be moving in speeds of 45-55mph which can cause conditions to change quickly. Have all your emergency plans in place now and be prepared to utilize them if a warning is issued for your area. Pay attention to changing conditions and Stay safe!

Severe Weather season is quickly approaching and a couple risk days ahead. Round 1 is this Thursday March 5th, There is a Marginal risk of Severe weather Thursday evening into early Friday Morning with the Primary Risk being Large hail. Round 2 is late Friday afternoon into the evening, there is a possibility of all modes of Severe weather including Damaging Wind, Large Hail and even a tornado or 2 are possible. At this time the greatest tornado potential will be on the Iowa side of the Missouri River with Southwest Iowa having the greater risk at this time, models do continue to change, but they are all trending towards a increasing chance of Severe Weather. Now is the time to start making sure you have all your emergency plans in place and to be prepared. I will continue to update as more information becomes available and we get closer to narrow down the timing of this system and locations impacted. Stay safe!
