40 Million dollars has been committed for housing from the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country Fund. According to the West Kerr Current, 6 full time and 12 part-time case managers have been hired to help flood affected residents with housing. Programs have been set up in 5 areas, temporary housing, RV repair/replacement, home rebuild and down payment assistance for those who want to move elsewhere. To receive help, residents must complete the needs assessment form at RebuildKerr.org.

Today is the 24th anniversary of 9-11. On September 11, 2001, 2 airplanes hit the Twin Tower buildings of the World Trade Center in New York City. 1 airplane hit the Pentagon and another crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. 2996 people were killed.

On this Patriot Day, we honor the bravery and sacrifice of the heroes and innocent lives lost on 9/11. Their courage reminds us of the values that make our country strong. Let’s reflect, remember, and carry forward their legacy of courage.

On September 11, 2001, our nation came under attack. At 8:46 a.m. Eastern Time, American Airlines Flight 11, traveling from Boston to Los Angeles, hit the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. At 9:03 a.m. ET, United Airlines Flight 175, traveling from Boston to Los Angeles, hit the south tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. At 9:37 a.m. ET, American Airlines Flight 77, traveling from Dulles, Virginia, to Los Angeles, hit the Pentagon Building in Washington. And at 10:03 a.m. ET, United Airlines Flight 93, traveling from Newark, New Jersey, to San Francisco, crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Today, the Kerrville Police Department honors the memories of the lives lost on that terrible day. With the flags of the nation lowered and our heads held high, we stand together in solemn remembrance. Never Forget.
