Palmdale – Deputy from the Los Angeles County sheriffs department Palmdale station and the Los Angeles County fire department responded to the 38700 block of Sage tree Street in the city of Palmdale for a report of a person shot inside of a home. Upon arrival deputies quickly discovered at least one adult suffering from a single gunshot wound to the upper torso. The suspect was described as a male black, wearing a gray hoodie and a backpack who fled the location on foot running westbound on Elizabeth Lake Road. The victim was transported to a local area hospital and critical condition. No further details are readily available as this is still under investigation.

The Los Angeles County fire department paramedics responded to the intersection of Avenue L9 and 10th St., West in Lancaster for a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian. Upon arrival firefighters located a male adult that had been struck by a vehicle and was laying unconscious on the curb. The driver that struck the pedestrian was still on the scene and talking to law-enforcement at the time of the incident. The victim was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition. It is unknown if alcohol or any substances were a factor in this accident. The Los Angeles County sheriffs department is still investigating at this time. No further information was available at the time of this report.

At 1:03 PM, the FAA reported that the aircraft was making an emergency landing in the area of 90th St. East and Avenue N. With extensive search by the Los Angeles County fire department they were able to locate a single engine aircraft that was carrying just the pilot. The pilot was not transported to the hospital as he refused. A brief interview with the planes pilot revealed that the engine seized at about 3000 feet, forcing the pilot to maneuver the plane and glide it to its landing point. The pilot was able to walk away with no injuries. The FAA is currently on scene and investigating.

11/20/2024 09:14 am (GMT-0800) | Lancaster – Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lancaster Station and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to a call regarding an overturned water tanker near West Avenue J and the 14 Freeway on Wednesday morning.

The caller reported that the tanker had overturned, trapping a person inside. Upon arrival, deputies located the overturned water tanker with one individual still trapped in the cab. Taking swift action, deputies worked to free the driver as water continuously spilled from the tanker, rising into the cab.

Los Angeles County Fire personnel had not yet arrived, leaving the deputies to act alone. The driver, identified as a construction worker at the site, was successfully rescued and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

California Highway Patrol officers arrived shortly thereafter to take over the investigation. The cause of the accident remains unknown and is under investigation. Site personnel indicated that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) would be notified.
