Look who showed up… 🫣
Throughout the summer the hot topic has been, Where are the Kings?? After a few slow months of fishing people began to speculate many theories about the king salmon population in Lake Ontario. Many anglers thinking they have been overfished in the past season or the population was damaged.. however as we expected the unusually wet season and fluctuation in temps threw the kings into submission for some time… that was until my close friend and Captain invited me up for a day of king scouting to see for ourselves what all the buzz was about. As we trolled out we noticed a thermocline had finally set up in the depths and we could only guess the kings would follow. After a couple slow hours we look back and the rods were pumping! And not just one… as soon as I grabbed the first rod I look over and the second rod Popped . 2 hard hitting kings fell for the same tricks they always do this time of year.. and it was Game On!! This marks my first kings of the 2025 season and I couldn’t be happier to say they are here! And they are ready to play. Looking forward to a great summer season and an even better season come fall! These kings might make you scratch your head but they never disappoint. Fish on!
