Image Description: These body curves are made from 91,689 tiny vertices captured with a 3D scanner. Glowing light against a black background reveals a person in a yoga pose with one knee bent and the other stretched long, lifting their upper body up out of the floor with lengthened arms. Long locs spill like a waterfall reaching the floor and covering their face, we can see through to the circumference of the neck, revealing the core, aligned right between the shoulders as if a portal. The fingers and hands are spread so wide they disappear into the floor entirely as if the wrists are dipping into a pool of water. The hips, hips that hold so much emotion that we are often not conscious to, those hips are glowing the brightest of all.

Sometimes I pick random materials up from the tool shop and put them on me. To amuse myself, to stay playful and to stay open to a material transforming. Image description: Lisa looks through a diamond mesh metal band wrapped around her head.

Thrilled to have my artwork back in in Albuquerque’s Old Towne. The collective art show is titled ‘Women’s Work’ and two of my sculptures ‘Blue Tongue’ and ‘Heart Beat’ are on show and for sale. This contemporary gallery has some incredible sculptors and I’m excited to be among them. Here is an ad for the art show, a shot of opening night and my sculptures on display right in the middle of the gallery, as well as shots of each individual piece. Stop by the gallery in person, or if you live elsewhere just go on ahead and DM me to arrange a buyer ’show and tell’ by video.

‘Blue Tongue’ is 3D printed resin sculpture created from 3D scan of human feet. Life-sized feet crossed at the ankle with pinky toe of left foot nestled and sticking out between big toe of right foot. Custom dyed during in the 12 hr 3D printing process the material effect is layers of seaglass blues. Designed as a bookshelf end or freestanding design piece. Smooth to the touch and glows in natural light. 12 “ 4 “ x 5 “ (approx size 8.5 foot).

$1,500 (artist/gallery split is 60/40).

How is this work relevant to the Women’s Work theme?

With my sensory sculptures I am inviting you to embody an experience (rather than just consume it, as the male gaze invites). In ‘Blue Tongue’ you either embody what the shape of the feet feels like from the perspective of the feet and/or from the perspective of the tongue/mouth interacting with these feet.

‘Heartbeat’ is a 3D printed concrete sculpture created from 3D scan of a n**e pregnant human kneeling with one hand over their heart and the other over their belly. 10” x 4” x 5"

$750 (artist/gallery split is 60/40)

How is this work relevant to the Women’s Work theme?

With this sculpture within a sculpture, I’m inviting you to imagine the shape and volume of what is growing inside the belly. The circulatory system connecting the heartbeats. The quality of the piece, as if it was dug up in an archeological site is a reminder of how many mothers have come before us.

Dec 3 - 30 my 3D scanning portrait and sculpture work will be exhibited and for sale at in Albuquerque New Mexico in The Big Q***r Show.

I have chosen to feature Q***r bodies captured in moments of connection and liberation, bodies that I had the honor of capturing with my 3D scanner.

I will also be ‘in residence’ at the gallery offering 3D scanning as a free experience with the option to buy the portraits we create together.

This is certainly intended to be a holiday gift opportunity, so in addition to fine art pieces for sale I have also designed affordable gifts inspired by the originals which include candy glass feet, jewelry, postcards, and gift cards for portrait sessions.

Fun with failures. The supports for my resin sculpture 3D printed on the build plate but the sculpture itself did not print. These learning moments are valuable when I can determine for sure if the failure is user error, machine, material, or file related. I can tell I’m in love with a process or material when even the failures are interesting. Dec 3 - 30 my 3D scanning portrait and sculpture work will be exhibited and for sale at The Ricochet Gallery in Albuquerque New Mexico in The Big Q***r Art Show. (Please follow )

I have chosen to feature Q***r bodies captured in moments of connection and liberation, bodies that I had the honor of capturing with my 3D scanner. It has been a total joy to prepare for this show, and I realize I have enough work for a solo show on this theme, however I have thoughtfully selected a handful of jaw dropping pieces that invite you to touch and interact with your senses.

My Night Sculpture artwork is now available on yoga mats via print on demand through my online store! Here is the piece ‘Beam’ as an example. I also am loving the Oryx skull as a design for yoga mats, it’s a stunning image and reminder to embrace asymmetry as beautiful. Image description: a black yoga mat with towing mesh of a woman with locks leaning forward in pigeon pose. Lisa laying next to yoga mat for scale. And mock-up of yoga mat with side 3D model of a one horned oryx skull.
