🚨: A 65-year-old man from Bloomfield Hills fatally shot his ex-wife while she was at work at Henry Ford Hospital’s main campus in Detroit.

The victim, a hospital employee in her 40s, was fatally shot during a verbal altercation.

The suspect, identified as Ford Mario Green, is on the run.

أكدت عائلة الشاب اللبناني حسين حسون (23 عاماً)، أنه تم العثور على جثمانه فجر اليوم بتوقيت ولاية ميشيغن، وذلك بعد أن كان مفقوداً منذ يوم الأحد في بحيرة Lake Erie.
وأوضحت العائلة، في اتصال مع موقع بنت جبيل، أن فرق الإنقاذ تمكنت من انتشاله، معربةً عن حزنها العميق لفقدانه، وموجهة الشكر لكل من ساهم في جهود البحث والدعاء له بالرحمة.

Dearborn WORKS opens applications for second cohort of women entrepreneurs

DEARBORN, MI — The City of Dearborn, in partnership with the Arab American Women’s Business Council (AAWBC), will begin accepting applications for the second session of the Dearborn WORKS (Women’s Opportunity to Realize their Knowledge and Skills) program between July 25 and Aug. 15, 2025.

Dearborn WORKS is a workforce and entrepreneurship initiative designed to support women in Dearborn who are seeking meaningful employment or career advancement. The program’s second cohort will kick off in September 2025.

Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud stated, “From its earliest days, Dearborn’s local economy has been built on the dreams of local, small business owners and their families. We’re proud to continue to keep the dreams of hardworking entrepreneurs alive and give them the tools to thrive. Empowering women in our community to realize their entrepreneurial and business goals is not only true to Dearborn’s values; it’s crucial for the economic vitality of our city.”

The program utilizes resources from the U.S. Department of Labor to boost the City of Dearborn’s commitment to economic inclusion and celebrates women’s entrepreneurship and economic growth in the community.

Participants selected through a competitive application process will gain access to a comprehensive suite of services, including financial literacy education, professional development workshops, and an eight-week intensive business boot camp. The program also offers networking opportunities, workforce training connections, and post-program support to ensure long-term success.

The initiative is implemented by the AAWBC and the City of Dearborn’s Department of Economic Development.

Dearborn WORKS graduates who wish to launch their own businesses may qualify for seed funding to cover critical startup expenses such as branding, digital marketing, licensing, data analytics, and legal or administrative fees. AAWBC manages the allocation of these funds in alignment with City and Department of Labor guidelines.

Application will open Friday, July 25, at Dearborn.gov/BusinessResources.

تهنئة وتأييد من الجالية اللبنانية في ميشيغان لسيادة اللواء حسن عزت شقير.

بأسمى آيات الفخر والاعتزاز، تتقدم الجالية اللبنانية في مدينتي ديربورن وديربورن هايتس – ميشيغان، بأحر التهاني والتبريكات إلى سيادة اللواء حسن عزت شقير، بمناسبة تعيينه مديرًا عامًا للأمن العام اللبناني، بعد صدور قرار مجلس الوزراء اللبناني بتكليفه بهذه المهمة الوطنية الكبيرة.

إنّ هذا التعيين يأتي في مرحلة حساسة ودقيقة تمرّ بها لبنان، حيث تشتد التحديات الأمنية والاقتصادية، ما يستدعي قيادة حكيمة وشجاعة لمؤسسات الدولة، قادرة على مواجهة الصعوبات بحكمة ومسؤولية. وإننا على ثقة بأنّ اللواء شقير بما يحمله من خبرة وكفاءة ونزاهة، سيكون عند حسن الظن، وسيواصل العمل الدؤوب في حماية الوطن وخدمة المواطنين، ساهرًا على أمن لبنان واستقراره.
