Maddieology Wicked good weatherologist

Thanks to an idea spawned over some dilly beans and beveraginos in the garage of a cool friggin neighbor down here in Florida with some clever gents (Mike Wyland, Roy Boone, and Bryan Tabler), I decided to bring Maddieology to life. Here at Maddieology, I, your host, Chief Maddieologist Madeline DeGroot, will bring you scintillating weather forecasts to brighten even your darkest days.

Skies are gray, heat is turning up, humidity is strong 🏁 winds will remain light and variable today with local temps reaching as high as the low 80’s while down here on the blacktop it’ll be closer to the mid-upper 80’s. Hot & sticky with a slight sea breeze making for a beautiful spectator day but a challenging one for the drivers!

Early outlook for Champ Cup race day (3/29/2025): The weather is looking warm and partly cloudy, highs in the upper 70’s/low 80’s. The feels-like could be closer to mid/upper 80’s down on the blacktop but luckily the sun looks like it’ll be tucked away for the most part behind some clouds. Winds are looking light and variable. Some showers near the east coast of FL could spell for a sprinkle or two at the track but at this time it’s not looking like much.

Make sure you’ve subscribed to Hee Haw Racin’ on the Tube- Maddieology will be in action at track!

look at alllll those chickens!!!

feeder bands should never be discounted, they really are part of the larger destructive force of the overall hurricane.

south FL lit up like a dang Christmas tree, a few possible naders on the ground now as I type this…

Milton’s coming for my paycheck tomorrow but he’s gonna have to fight me for it.

Thinkinggggg 1-2 am landfall near Bradenton, FL…will be a dire situation on the gulf coast so mandatory evacs have been issued.

As for Jacksonville:

JSO better get their speeding tickets ready because winds will pick up Wednesday evening and continue to increase overnight, peaking at 40-55 mph sustained, gusting 70-75 mph Wednesday afternoon as Milton skrrts off the east coast 🚔

5-8” of rainfall possible within 48 hrs from Wed AM to Fri AM, heaviest rainfalll likely first half of Thurs., continues throughout end of day. I’m thinking I’ll pre-inflate my paddleboard?

Power outages, urban flooding/flash flooding, downed trees/limbs and power lines are possible. Bad news for a girl in an apartment complex with all electric appliances.

Chances for naders here might be low but they ain’t 0 🌪️

if you know Milton, tell him to get lost.

and why do these hurricanes keep hitting on my paydays?

stay tuned to find out what day Maddie gets paid 🤫

Midnight forecast fueled by margs & rosé:

Hurricane mean wind. And rain.

….which means for Duval County, 25-40mph winds likely between the hours of 8pm Thursday night & 4am Friday morning, with gusts up to 50 mph, and make no mistake, while not on the “hurricane scale” (Saffir-Simpson Scale), these can still be locally damaging winds!!!

Rainfall totals possible up to 3” by end of day Friday, but what’s new for us there? 🫠

Please note Helene is moving like a Maddie on Marg Night - hauling 🍑 to wherever the margs are. I hope she finds them before I do tomorrow!! She appears to be a one night thing with her post-8pm landfall and 2am departure from state lines, avoiding spending too much time in Talla-nasty.

Landfall targeting appears to cast a familiar shadow along the Big Bend region of the Gulf Coast - Helene has the devastating potential reminiscent of Idalia in 2023 for the area.

As for Jacksonville….I think we just might need our recovery efforts spent recovering from Monday’s epic loss to the Bills…

what the Helene……🌀⛈️🌪️🌊

centered out off of TB, should make landfall in the wee hours Monday morning somewhere near Lighthouse Point!
