Last weekend’s youth media screening was nothing short of electric. The energy in the theater was inspiring as we celebrated the next generation of storytellers! Three RYSE MPLS filmmakers took the stage with confidence and passion, sharing powerful short films that captured their voices and visions of the world.

Presented in partnership with the Twin Cities Youth Media Network (TCYMN), the showcase featured an inspiring lineup of work from youth media artists representing In Progress, , Perpich Center for Arts Education, Studio Thirteen at and others. The evening closed with a Q&A and a special reception marking TCYMN’s 25th anniversary—reminding us all that the future of media is in bold, creative hands.

➡️ Multimedia Journalist – Lead production on AMPLIFY MPLS, our original weekly TV show highlighting community stories, local news, and civic engagement. If you’re a skilled storyteller who can produce, shoot, and edit content that informs and connects, we want to hear from you!

➡️ Community Media Manager – Oversee daily media center operations, studio logistics, and member services to ensure a seamless experience for creatives and community members using our production spaces. If you’re organized, media-savvy, and love supporting local storytellers, this role is for you!

This past weekend, SPEAK MPLS was proud to sponsor and participate in the 2025 Community Connections Conference, hosted by the Neighborhood and Community Relations department at the City of Minneapolis Government. The event brought together over 250 organizations and tons of residents for a day of learning, connection, and civic engagement. PARTICIPATION IS POWER!

Through our Faces of Minneapolis series, we captured portraits and voices of community members who make our city thrive. From organizers and artists to local leaders and neighbors, these snapshots highlight the stories, passions, and hopes of the people shaping Minneapolis.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth for free headshots, to share their thoughts in our video booth, and to learn about SPEAK MPLS. Shout out to our fellow sponsors and community partners who made this event a success, and to the amazing local food vendors who kept everyone fueled for a day of action.
