A national religious gathering tied to America’s 250th celebration is coming to Nelson County next month, with organizers offering free admission to the public.

The National Sacred Heart Conference will take place June 11-14 at Log Still Distillery in what organizers describe as the nation’s largest event connected to the consecration of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The event will include a festival, exhibit hall, breakout sessions and concerts, all free to attendees. Organizers say the conference is expected to draw visitors from across the country to the Kentucky Holy Land region.

The Log Still campus is located near several historic religious sites, including Abbey of Gethsemani, home to the oldest group of monks in the United States.
