Maryland Exploration Series Episode 1: Fort Howard/Fort Howard Veteran's Hospital By FlightLife

Today at 5pm EST marks the start of this epic adventure me and Charles Hudnell undertook. When it began we had no idea what awaited us and I got to say was one of the best explore/investigations I have ever done. Not only did we explore but we basically shot a film with hours and hours of drone footage, 360 footage, gopro footage, Lumix footage and over 10 separate locstions! Not only that we also did paranormal investigations at every stop this series is insane you dont want to miss it. New videos coming out each and every Monday tune i to tonight for Episode 1 our arrival at the historic Fort Howard Veterans Hospital

Flying high above the old North Point Battlefield. The location where British and American soldiers clashed during the War Of 1812. Today townhouses now stand on parts of the old battlefield and I wonder? Has anyone experienced any paranormal activity?

Epic 400 Feet Drop In To Sunflower Field And No Cuts, Fly With Me..

One of the coolest DJI drone drop ins Ive ever shot with no edits over the sunflower fields in Edgemere. Recently some one decided to destroy half the field really sucks some people have to ruin things for the community. I shot a lot more footage then this and gonna make a second video showing more of the damage done. Regardless if you knock down half the field or not I seen so many familes having fun in the fields today. Sorry to the farmer who worked diligently to give back to our community.

Take A Ride On The Jones Falls Zephyr At The Maryland Zoo In Baltimore

For Easter we visited The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. We travel in a large group so usually keeping everyone together can be overwhelming but, the Zoo wasn't too crowded for it being a holiday. They have changed a lot since the days of field trips in Elementary school. You no longer have to walk around the big hill now you can cut through in a more direct route to the animals. The food was decent, most of us packed our own lunches instead of spending money on food. Prices were okay, cheaper then what you might see at an amusement park. After a while of walking we decided to take a ride on the Jones Falls Zephyr for I believe $4(check out the video). Overall we had fun the apes are cool, the giraffes and elephants. We will be traveling to more Maryland hotspots from the historical to the paranormal in the future so stay tuned!

The amazing view in pictures from the Key Bridge in Edgemere Maryland and Fort Carroll.

In 1847, the State of Maryland gave permission to the United States War Department to construct a fort in the shallow water of Soller's Point Flats to protect the city of Baltimore. Fort Carroll was important for the defense of Baltimoreβ€”before the fort's construction, Fort McHenry just outside the city was the only military defensive structure between Baltimore and the Chesapeake Bay. The fort was part of the "Permanent System" or Third System construction program, which aimed to defend America's most important ports.[2]

Then Brevet-Colonel Robert E. Lee designed the hexagonal structure and supervised the construction, which the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers commenced in 1848. The fort received its name on 8 October 1850. In 1852, Lee left Baltimore to become Superintendent of the United States Military Academy at West Point.

In 1853 a lighthouse, now abandoned, was built on the ramparts to aid navigation into Baltimore Harbor. In 1898 a new lighthouse was built, the one still seen today. It was automated in 1920 and discontinued operations before 1945.

The original design foresaw the fort being armed with some 225 cannon on three levels. However, in April 1861 at the outbreak of the Civil War, Fort Carroll's walls were still less than half the planned height of thirty feet. Only five gun platforms were ready and only two were armed with guns. Still, the Army emplaced about thirty cannon and occupied the fort throughout the war. In April 1864 torrential rains flooded the fort's magazines, which led the Army to move all the powder and ammunition to Fort McHenry.
