These cuts aren’t savings—they’re breaking promises to boost military prowess. If you haven't already done so, now is the time to develop community sufficiency strategies that reduce reliance on programs that will expire and not be renewed!

Curated by letting the province override Onkwehonwe consultation, environmental laws, and heritage site protections, but now 9 First Nations are fighting it in court.

Yet within communities, critical questions arise: Is this challenge reinforcing the band council system’s power to negotiate land surrenders?

Many grassroots activists see that our territory isn’t negotiable, and the duty to consult distracts from sovereignty.

Respect can’t be legislated while Ontario pushes mining in places like the Ring of Fire or development in places like Port Dover or Brantford without consent.

Miami, Florida- Some pretty sad news is being reported out of Miami, Florida. A Canadian citizen was pronounced deceased on June 23 by the Miami fire department while he was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

We want to offer our condolences to his family and loved ones.

COMMUNITY NOTICE: STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED BY SIX NATIONS OF THE GRAND RIVER
For Immediate Release: June 26, 2025

OHSWEKEN, ON – The Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council (SNGREC) has declared a State of Emergency effective June 19, 2025, because of unprecedented rainfall and subsequent community flooding that occurred on June 18, 2025.

The declaration allowed the Six Nations of the Grand River Emergency Control Group (ECG) to assess the immediate damage and deploy resources to mitigate any further impact. This will also allow the ECG to monitor and respond appropriately to any potential weather events.

We encourage all community members who have experienced damage or need assistance to contact the Crisis Line at (519) 445-2204 (24/7) with the following information:
• Description of the impact on your property/home.
• Are you connected to the public wastewater system or a private system.
• Do you have homeowner’s insurance.
• Are you currently involved with any community services.
