Officer Averill and Asst. Chief Bacon recently responded to a possible breaking and entering call. After clearing the home and taking the reporting party’s statement, something unexpected happened, Mr. and Mrs. Young took a moment to make balloon animals and flowers.

While the situation could have been defined by loss, they instead chose joy. Their kindness and laughter reminded us what truly makes Fairview, Fairview.

In a world where some believe they can take what isn’t theirs, be like Mr. and Mrs. Young, show them how resilience, gratitude, and grace look in action.

Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Young, for your lighthearted spirit and the smiles you shared with our officers.

One Killed in Highway 33 Accident in Kingfisher County
KINGFISHER COUNTY, Okla. (Oct. 23, 2025) — A Yukon man was killed Thursday afternoon when a piece of wood fell from another vehicle and went through his windshield on State Highway 33, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The report states the crash occurred at 2:10 p.m. about 0.1 miles west of County Road N2960 in Kingfisher County.

A vehicle driven by Roberto C. Lopez Perez, 45, of Enid, was traveling west on SH-33 when a large, unsecured piece of wood fell from it. The debris struck the windshield of a westbound commercial motor vehicle driven by Brandon M. Friday, 36, of Yukon, fatally injuring him.

The OHP report states Friday’s passenger was able to reach over, steer the vehicle, and activate the air brakes, bringing it to a controlled stop in the westbound lane.
Perez was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol report states the next of kin have been notified. The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE: We have identified the vehicle and driver involved. The white semi pulling the trailer was NOT involved.

PUBLIC ASSISTANCE NEEDED:

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is seeking information on a fatal crash from this afternoon in Kingfisher County.

It happened on SH33 near N2960 Rd between 2 and 2:15 pm.

A westbound vehicle was struck through the windshield by a large piece of wood that came off of another vehicle, causing the death of the driver.

Investigators are looking for anyone that was in the area that may have dashcam of other vehicles or recall details during that time. An activity bus was seen traveling westbound through the area ahead of the victim and we would like to see if it has cameras that may have a better view of vehicles in the area.

These photos are from a nearby security camera of vehicles of interest and the activity bus. (The time stamp on the photos is incorrect.)
