One exhibit that stood out to K-Mill at the Harley-Davidson Museum was the 2004 Harley-Davidson Night Train that was swept away by the massive tsunami that followed the Tōhoku earthquake in Japan in March 2011. The motorcycle had traveled approximately 4,000 miles across the Pacific Ocean. It was found in April 2012 in a storage container that had broken away from its original location, on a beach in Graham Island, off the coast of British Columbia, by a local resident.

The motorcycle's Japanese license plate helped identify its owner, Ikuo Yokoyama.
Mr. Yokoyama, who had lost his home and three family members in the tsunami, was still living in temporary housing in Japan. He requested that the motorcycle be preserved and displayed at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee as a memorial to all the lives lost in the tragedy.

It has not been cleaned or restored since it was retrieved from the beach as a stark reminder of the disaster and powerful forces of nature.
