A stroke is a medical emergency that requires rapid intervention. Recognizing its symptoms early can make a life-saving difference. The BEFAST acronym is a simple, effective tool used to identify the signs of a stroke, one of the many educational efforts by the Nebraska Stroke Association.

• Balance: Sudden loss of balance or coordination
• Eyes: Blurry or double vision
• Face: One side of the face drooping
• Arms: Weakness or numbness in one arm
• Speech: Slurred or difficulty speaking

The Seniors Foundation of Lincoln & Lancaster County is now accepting nominations for its Keystone Award, which honors an individual, couple, or group dedicated to improving the lives of seniors. The deadline to nominate is Friday, February 28 at 5:00 PM.

Make plans to attend the Keystone Award Luncheon on May 20 at the Country Club of Lincoln. This annual fundraiser supports the mission of the Seniors Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors by supporting Aging Partners.
