In the wake of a state championship season from the McCaskey girls track and field team, Derek Jennings has been named the state's coach of the year in that sport.

It was a stroke of good fortune more than anything else. A distance runner from Solanco, with coaching aspirations, became a teacher in the School District of Lancaster.

One more for all the marbles. Weston Brillhart homered in the fifth Saturday, and Manheim held on to top L-S 8-6 and force a deciding game in the LNP 10U Tournament. The teams will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday back at Mountville's Froelich Park to decide this year's champ.
