19-year-old LaQuanta Riley was last seen the night of December 7, 2003, when she left her mother’s Montgomery home with an unknown male in a 4-door dark green car similar to a Ford Ta**us or Chevrolet Caprice. A few days after her disappearance, LaQuanta’s mother, Pam Riley Bolden, received a message on her answering machine. The message was hard to understand, but she believes it was a distraught LaQuanta saying “leave me alone” or “let me go home.” Riley said a male could be heard saying LaQuanta’s name just before the call disconnected.

After LaQuanta’s disappearance, investigators discovered her name had been used to rent an apartment in Georgia, but they couldn’t verify whether it was LaQuanta or someone using her identity. Bolden went to the complex and spoke to a resident who told her LaQuanta had moved out just a few days prior to her arrival.

Almost 19 years later, LaQuanta’s whereabouts remain unknown and the investigation into her disappearance is still open and active.

“She threatened to call the police, and we couldn’t get caught. We had to shut her up.”

There is new evidence that confirms what we’ve always known to be true: Scott is innocent.

Two witnesses recently heard a man admit that he participated in the Medina burglary and that Laci caught them. These witnesses have signed declarations, and they are willing to testify—something that many witnesses have been afraid to do in this case. We are incredibly grateful for the courage of these new witnesses.

Last week marked 20 years since Scott was arrested for murdering Laci and their unborn son Conner. The evidence has always indicated that Laci was alive when Scott left home the morning of December 24, 2002. The evidence shows that Laci woke up, she put her pajamas in the hamper, she got dressed, she used the computer, she curled her hair, she watched Martha Stewart, she mopped the floor, she leashed up their dog, McKenzi, she went back in the house (perhaps to use the restroom or grab a jacket), she walked the dog, and she returned home.

And the evidence has long suggested that Laci witnessed or confronted burglars that were burglarizing the Medina home directly across the street from her home. This is no longer a suggestion, and this new evidence is admissible in court.

These new witnesses provided specific details they recently heard from a man who admitted to participating in the Medina burglary on December 24, 2002. He admitted that Laci caught them while they were removing a safe from the house, and that she threatened to call the police. He said they “couldn’t afford to get caught, so they had to shut her up.” He admitted they took Laci and that the men he was with killed her. He admitted that they saw on television that Scott had gone fishing in the bay area, so they took her body there. He gave details that have never been made public that confirm his story to be true.

While we’ve always known Scott to be innocent, nothing could prepare us for the heartbreak and emotions we felt when there was finally a name and specific details attached to what happened to Laci and Conner. We find ourselves devastated about what her last days must have been like and we find ourselves mourning their loss all over again.

While our judicial system is based on the assumption of innocence until proven guilty, the burden has shifted, and Scott must now prove his innocence. We would argue that Scott was never granted his constitutional right to be presumed innocent, was never proven to be guilty, and was instead tried from the very beginning with the burden that he must prove who else could have done this.
This newly discovered evidence not only proves Scott’s innocence, but it answers in part, who is responsible for Laci’s kidnapping and murder. Our investigation is not over.
There is still more to come.

This evidence has been filed with the court and we will post more information in the coming days.

Almost 28 years ago, 26-year-old Cindy Gingerich was shot to death outside her Sumiton home while her two children slept inside. Almost 28 years later, Cindy's case is still unsolved.

In 2021, her husband Ed, along with her parents and children, sat down with ABC 33/40 to discuss the case in an effort to bring more attention to it. ABC 33/40 stated they attempted to reach Walker County Sheriff's Office for 7 months to discuss Cindy's case, but they received no interest and no information to help with the story. They were able to later speak with Walker County DA Bill Adair, who told them Cindy's file and personal belongings had been located and the investigation was considered open.

There is a $7,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for Cindy's death.

If you have any information, please contact the Walker County Sheriff's Office or the Walker County DA's Office.
