It was just before Memorial Day weekend in 1993. Brett Klein had a girlfriend but had been involved occasionally with other men in some fairly lightweight "activities". He had been going to his primary care doc every six months to get an HIV test. He didn't hear from the doctor's office for 6 or 7 weeks, so he called in. The receptionist said "Oh, hold please". Then she (NOT the doctor) came back on a few minutes later and said to him: "The doctor said that you tested positive and he can't see you anymore. Here's the number of an infectious disease doctor. Good luck. Have a nice weekend. Bye". And he never heard from him again.

That was his wake up call that he was gay and led to his coming out. He had to tell his girlfriend.... and it didn't go well. (He wrecked her plans.)...

Daniel Stewart
After the death of his mother when he was only six years old was when his father said it was "God's will" and he was not to question it. That was only the beginning of his problems that went on for decades.

Daniel Stewart has led a very interesting life. As a teen, he figured out that he was gay, was outed to his religious father by a disgruntled lover and was subsequently rejected and kicked out of his home. That started him on a precarious downward spiral. But he figured out a way to turn his life around...

Dr. Sean Ferri is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist ( #34510) in both California and New Jersey. His doctoral research focused on the need for expanding LGBTQ+ competency within school-based mental health programs across the U.S. Prior to his clinical work, he was an educator and taught in a multitude of settings including China, Harlem, NY, and NJ. He has taught Human Sexuality and Intimacy at Pepperdine’s Graduate School of Education & Psychology. His areas of focus include the LGBTQ+ Community, anxiety, grief, and exploring the intersectionality of neurodivergency and gender identity.

James is one of my closest friends. He stopped by for just a few days after finishing working on a boat in Alaska during salmon season.. But every time he visits, he helps me with stuff around the house. He moved a bunch of heavy power tools for me and then he got my bike in riding order so I can get back to riding when the heat breaks. Thanks, buddy. Looking forward to you coming back again!
